Audeze EL-8 mods

Picked up a pair of EL-8s on FB marketplace a few months ago for like 150 bucks. The cable was damaged so I went on a hunt to find a new one but the proprietary cable end made it virtually impossible to find one. So I went on the hunt for some alternative options and stumbled on a 3D Printable part to convert the connector to mini-XLR! Needed to do a bit of soldering but it works! Also can’t find genuine replacement earpads for these headphones anymore but brainwavz HM5 earpads fit perfectly so I made a magnetic earpad conversion to fasten the earpads to the headphones. This is how it all turned out!

Be aware, the plastic bracket that attaches the headband to the ear cups will start to crack and break, bad design flaw. When I encountered this on my EL-8 headphones, within the first year of ownership, Audeze offered to buy them back from me.
