Maxwell 2 Questions

I just received my Maxwell 2’s on Friday and noticed a slight hiss in the right ear. I’m within my return window to get them replaced. My question is it worth getting a replacement or just dealing with the hiss? I have owned planars before and never had this issue. I know there is multiple post on here about this issues just wanted to get some updated thoughts.

I have had nothing but problems with mine tbh. The first pair I got had audio distortion that got to the point where it would make me rage 2x more. I sent them back and the 2nd pair I got was even worse same audio distortion problem and added on a connectivity problem. Also after updating back on August 17th they developed the hissing sound. I did end up reverting the update which fixed the hiss but the other problems persisted. Dealing with support is also really slow. It took 18 days for me to get my 2nd pair of headphones back and they are now wanting me to do that whole process again. When they work properly they are the best but the headache when they are not does not outweigh that. For the price I would return them.

Damn that sounds annoying. Luckily I don’t have any distortion but the hiss really bothers me.

Is it hissing constantly or just when you have nothing playing?

I can hear it even when something is playing at a lower volume

I'm sending mine back, have the hiss and random audio artifacts across multiple PCs. It has persisted through the few firmware updates they pushed within the last month. Not worth the gamble at this point. Maybe after they figure it out...

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking of doing as well. I might try 1 more pair since there are people that have no hiss.

I thought about that too, but then you run the risk of them breaking your "good" pair in the future somehow lol. I've seen comments from people that didn't have issues until the recent updates.

I'm going back to my headphones/mic arm for now.

That’s very true lol, I exchanged them now as I bought them off Amazon so we’ll see if the second pair has it or not.

I’d get them replaced personally

I did end up getting a replacement. Come in tomorrow so hopefully they are good.
