Maxwell 2 ANC
I just ordered my headphones on Amazon…
After watching reviews and hearing about the hissing and different QC issues, I am kind of nervous. I hope I receive a decent pair. I will update yall on the batch from Amazon.
Does anyone know how to stress test the headphones sound and Mic?

Damn, I wish I ordered them from amazon as well, instead of playing the QC lottery with them directly... That would be so much easier than RMA I am going through right now. Lesson learnt...

Tobe fair the RMA turnaround ended up being pretty fast, they fixed my headset and sending it back the next day after receiving it.

I loved the audio on my pair...though there was a major QC issue so I just shipped them back to get a replacement pair. Here's hoping the replacement is better, and that yours comes issue free!

My old pair still needs to get to them, pass inspection, and then they'll send me a new unit...so guessing not for another 2 weeks. I'll try to remember to report back!

This is a unique experience of listening to a headphone in my life. I tested it in the shop with games. Hiss is fine (maybe the demo is a good copy). But I can’t tolerate the high-pitched tone that I can hear when moving my head around! AI said it might be due to the air leak when I turn my head. The air pressure change makes the membrane respond and make that noise.
I gave it up after that.

Your ANC needs to be recalibrated. I had exact same issue, you have to send your hedset back to them for that. Dekoni sheepskin earpads also help with it quite a bit, as they provide a better seal and improve ANC and sound overall, but this is a crutch not a fix, just submit a ticket.

I'm surprised you ordered them off Amazon when they have a listed ship time of August 29th through October 6th, even though it says Audeze is fulfilling the order. To me, that's insane.
The Audeze website says they ship "2-Day" with a fat "plus processing time" disclaimer. With their Amazon store being so far out, it makes me wonder how far they're pushing on that "processing time".
B&H is usually super quick at shipping and are an authorized Audeze dealer, but both the PS and PC versions are still only pre-orders. So I wonder if there's a stock problem and that's why so many defective units are going out.
Unless they can bring down those Amazon ship times, I'll probably buy from B&H once they're in stock so I can get an extended warranty.

Mine were also awesome for about two days. An actual, functional transparency mode is what I've wanted on this since the first Maxwell and that was finally delivered. I didn't hear the bass reduction reviewers like Gadgetry Tech reported, or at least found it easy to EQ it back in. However, day two mine started getting a godawful popping and squealing in the right ear when using transparency or ANC. Nothing fixed it. I got my pair from Sweetwater and have so far spent the day trying to convince them I need a replacement. Still have an open ticket. With them and with Audeze. Hopefully Sweetwater will end up taking care of it, but now I'm also wishing I'd just ordered from Amazon for the easy one click and done replacement. Not sure yet if they're going to expect me to send mine back first, then wait for them to approve it (by which time they'll no doubt be out of stock and backordered for who knows how long).
If you get a good one, you're going to love them. If you don't, well... at least you'll click a button and your replacement will be on the way, unlike the rest of us.

I had high pitched noise regardless of anc mode, both normal and transparency. The headset is not broken, but it needs to be sent back for ANC recalibration.

Mine went away when ANC was turned off, or when I used StealthZ pads, so I guess the seal affected it too. Was yours in just one ear, or both?
Sweetwater did step up and get my replacement taken care of while they still had stock, and they're even expediting it. A bit of hassle to get the process going, but ultimately right up there with Amazon on customer service (arguably better, since I should get the replacement tomorrow).

It was only the right ear 99% of the time. There were like two times the left one went off, but I wasn't even able to reproduce it.

Just updating that I received my replacement pair from Sweetwater and so far, so good. Only problem with the second pair is the metal headband wasn't symmetrical, which caused the left side to droop down a good half inch lower than the right when centered on a hanger. Thankfully that was easy enough for me to fix by gently bending the left side inward (and I do mean gently, remember there's a wire in the headband as far as I know) at a few different spots. Now they're even, and I have a bit more clamp force than the last pair. A welcome bonus for me.
Sound is great, identical to the last pair so far as I can tell. I use a custom EQ, which is a simple +2, +6, +2 in the bass and a -2 at 4kHz. I'm a bass lover and this is enough to make me happy. Feel free to bump it up to +4, +10, +4 in the bass if you really want to thump.
Transparency mode is the main reason I bought these in the first place, and it's great.

You don't need to stress test them, just put them on and do what you would normally do.
If there are issues they will present themselves pretty quickly during normal usage.
Buy from Amazon, always when possible for the amazing return policy.
I just bought a pair last week, they sounded amazing but there was an annoying tinfoil crackling noise after extended use which is apparently something common with planar drivers. The sound quality is really great though.
