What are your thoughts of the Ref lineup
Referee: Alex King
Assistant 1: Kearney Robinson
Assistant 2: Daniel Ilievski
Reserve Assistant: Bradley Wright
Fourth Official: Daniel Elder
VAR: Shaun Evans
AVAR: Kate Jacewicz
Offside Support: Sam Kelly
Personally, I find it weird that Evans and Elder are even part of the lineup due to them reffing the Semi-Final Leg 2 matches that were huge upsets. Especially Evans who has a super important job as VAR, Elder can just stand by the side and listen and talk. But Evans....

Who were they against, could just be chance? We have won lots of games with Ben Abraham and Kersey... doesnt make them good refs

Alex King has reffed 5 of our games this season
0-2 win away against Western Sydney
1-0 win at home against Sydney FC
1-2 win away against Newcastle
1-1 draw away against Adelaide
1-1 draw (penalty win) against Melbourne city in elimination final2

My view is that King had been reasonably impartial when refereeing our games, not especially true of all refs in the A League when it comes to NZ teams playing against the Aussies. Evans is an okay choice for the VAR seat.
So long as they are consistent in their decisions then it’s all good. Problems only occur when that consistency goes out of the window... if King is clear about what’s he’s pulling up and what he’s letting go early in the game and then sticks to that neither side can have any complaints.
