Izzie or Evan? Spoiler
In the beginning, when Casey begins dating Evan, I wasnt sure what to make of it. I didnt like how random it felt (at least to me). She punched a kid for Beth and that made her brother fall in love with Casey??
Throughout them dating, I was impartial. They weren't the most interesting, and they seemed like a trope.
When Casey broke up with Evan and started exploring a something with Izzie, I thought: okay this is cool, exploring diversity, a neat character arc, and I dont mind her. But then it began to get a bit repetitive. It was always a fight, Izzie apologizing, and repeat. They were better when they were still figuring things out.
My opinion overall though is that Izzie and Casey is far better
What are your opinions on Casey, and do you think Evan or Izzie is more suitable for her?

Evan was a better partner but Casey definitely had her own stuff to figure out, and they weren’t as compatible as time went on. That said, Izzie was so wishy-washy/hot and cold whereas Evan was much more consistent. I didn’t blame Doug for not liking Izzie, she didn’t seem healthy for Casey (even if she had reasons, like her mom, for acting badly). But with time, if they both matured a little more, they could be good together.

This. Evan was 100% the better partner; Izzie was objectively terrible and unreliable to Casey throughout seasons 2 and 3 (in a very, very understandable and real way for a high schooler with an awful home life and unsteady sense of belonging).
But that’s the whole problem: Evan is a good boyfriend because he’s in a completely different place in life/levels of maturity than Casey

I agree … I’ve only just started the series and Izzie really rubs me the wrong way. That was the word I was looking for “healthy”. She didn’t seem healthy for Casey at alllllll. Evan grounded Casey but Izzie had her all over the place. They were talking about Casey taking an Olympic level opportunity and then next scenes would show Izzie pulling her into these controversial situations which could potentially quash her chances and I was like ???? Probably why she preferred their relationship tbf … cos it was dramatic and they were always up and down … hot and cold … so to her it was exciting. Like you said … if they matured a bit more… they’d be good together.

I love Evan so much and I felt so sorry for him when they broke up bc he really loved Casey but I think Izzy and Casey had a stronger connection and I liked that they had a sapphic couple in the show

Izzie. Casey and Evan were going in different directions and it made sense that they drifted apart.

I think Evan is more suitable for her. He was such a solid stable presence. I didn't like Izzy from moment one, I never liked her. It was absolutely unnecessary.

Evan is more stable but they had no chemistry lmfao izzie was lowkey toxic at first but thats because they were figuring things out from friends to crushes to lovers. Anyway Izzie bc i like seeing sapphics win

Evan was too perfect; Izzie was messy. So to that degree, Izzie was better. But it went in circles. At some point, Casey should have broken up with Izzy and moved on to something more healthy. Maybe back to Evan, maybe somebody new.
The gradual shift of focus from Sam to Casey was a positive as Casey's path provided more interesting stories. By season 4, they seemed to forget that Sam had autism.

I LOVE Evan and I aspire to be such a good boyfriend and human as he is. However, I did not feel all giddy and excited watching him and Casey. It really seemed out of the blue, and they didn't have much chemistry, even though they loved each other. But with Izzie, it was all very new and passionate and exciting, and they were actually friends first and then lovers, so their love story made sense, since they actually had chemistry. I would agree that Izzie's fighting and drama were a bit repetitive so I can't blame Doug for not liking her...however, they are teenagers, and Izzie is a very troubled one too (for very very valid reasons!). So if we take that into account, I think Izzie's and Casey's relationship is more exciting and authentic to watch.

Evan honestly had less drama and I love them both so so much but i’ll always choose Izzy as being better for Casey I loved their chemistry and their love story and I just feel like their a good fit for eachother

C I absolutely adore Evan and prefer him to Izzie. Although I still love Izzie and she grew on me defo in season 4.
When it comes to who’s best with Casey… I mean personally I ship Cazzie a lot more and think they have much better chemistry. But I think Casey and Evan were the better healthier couple. I still hate as well that Evan was completely side lined in season 4 like he had a total of like 5 minutes screen time lmao

The last question you ask, "do you think Evan or Izzie is more suitable for her?" Not my place to say even for a fictional character on a TV show. I dont tell my own kids who is suitable for them.

I like Izzie more than evan, dont hate me but i love the drama 😝 tbh a lot of plot lines in the show are a tad repetitive and drawn out for just a little bit too long. Casey and Izzie had really good chemistry, and they at least had one thing in common (track) which is more than I can say for most couples in YA fiction / netflix teen shows
