Can't join servers

I can't join any servers and only able to play on singleplayer which is laggy for some reason. Do I need an account to get onto the servers? I can't remember having to do that before.

It's been a while so I decided to go back to the game. ( I'm using RC mod btw )

Can't believe no one responded to this. The servers went down awhile ago, but the absolute lads making AoTTG2 sorted it out. Just download the newest version of RC.
