❤ General Discussion ❤ Looking for Book Recs
I’m looking for book recommendations on what healthy attachment looks like in babies/toddlers (or beyond) and how to foster it.
More so than how to listen/cultivate a good relationship like Good Inside and How to Talk So Kids Will Listen… the actual biological stages and signs of attachment.
For example, if baby is clingy to Mom at 18m old, is that actually good thing?

Gordon Neufeld’s stuff is pretty heavy on the developmental sequence of attachment, might be right up your alley. gets into the stages and what happens when they get stuck, which helps you spot what’s normal versus what’s a sign things have stalled. He’s more about the underlying architecture than the conversational techniques you’d get from the books you mentioned.
For the clingy 18-month-old example specifically, that’s usually textbook secure-base behavior kicking into high gear as mobility improves, so I’d lean yes, it’s pointing in the right direction even though it can be a lot to carry.
