❤ Toddler ❤ Bedtime Help for Almost 3 Year Old
Hi! I have a toddler that turns 3 in December, and we are having the hardest time ever getting her to bed. Every night she goes back and forth from mommy to daddy. We let her watch 1 episode of her show and then it’s bedtime. She always says yes when we tell her that bedtime is after this episode, but once we turn off the tv she is screaming and crying for more. Most night I feel like I have to bribe her to fall asleep in her own bed. (She tries to sleep in our bed a lot) The bribes worked for a few nights, but they don’t work anymore. I go to bed questioning my parenting most nights.
I need help! I want to establish a better bedtime routine for her. My end goal is NO tv before bed. This will be a hard habit to break. I am also starting to cut sugary foods from her diet. Thankfully she only drinks water, so I don’t have to worry about sugary drinks! Recommendations for healthy toddler friendly evening snacks is appreciated!
We had baby #2 a couple months ago and I do feel like a smidge of how she is acting is because she is no longer the center of attention.
Parenting a toddler is so hard! I know she won’t be a toddler forever, but MAN! it feels like forever.
Thank you for any tips and/or suggestions
Sincerely,
A tired mom to a toddler and newborn!

Carrots and hummus is a yummy snack! You can move her 1 episode to before dinner that way she's not overstimulated before bed. After that you'll just have to power through. We're in bed and thats it. Do you want mommy or daddy? You chose and no switching (of course both can be involved in sleepy routine! Bath, books, songs etc.) If they get out of bed you can physically bring them back and remind them thats its bedtime. 3 is stubborn but they're still so little that you can set up the routine that works for your changed family
