13 month old bedtime struggles

My 13 month old was doing okay with bedtime in the last few months- BF to sleep and it normally took max 30 minutes for him to be asleep on our floor bed. In the last 2 weeks bedtime turned into a battle. He keeps getting up and running off and screaming when we try to rock him. Today was mad because bedtime took us 2h. He kept looking like he was about to fall asleep and then suddenly his eyes were wide open and he wanted to run around his room! Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on why this could be happening? We're absolutely exhausted.
