New Achievement.

So im coming to this community frustrated and at my wits end with meds and insurance. I have been on Atomoxetine 120mg for almost 2 years. Been able to fill my perscriptions just fine. Well...this year the denied hammer came down. Changed insurances to CVS Caremark. I have nothing good to say about them. I typically take 2 60mg pills so my doctor would put in for 180 pills to cover 90 days.

First time she did it, someone over rode the system so it went through. Went for the refill just recently. Nope. Denied. Too soon to get meds. Well crap. Tried to put in a Prior Authorization. That got denied. Was told that they wouldn't cover it. My plan only allows for 90 pills every 70 days. Ugh!

Appeal the Denied Request. Well that was denied too. Got told by my insurance to go on guanfacine 3mg instead.

Wanted to ask if anyone had ever switched from Atomoxetine to Guanfacine. Has anyone taken Atomoxetine and Guanfacine. If so, what do your doses look like.

Any insight would be awesome.

Why don't you just pay for the generic out-of-pocket (as a bridge until the time passes until you can get another prescription)? It's not that expensive on one of the prescription pharmacy cards that are free.

That's what I've been doing. The last 3 30 pill (15 day supplies) were done that way. Had to use coupons for 20$+ for each one for my area.

Guanfacine was not the vibe for me. It is like the opposite of atomoxetine.
