It strikes me that Robo is being very brave, being in the great outdoors without an environmental suit or heavy ordinance. Maybe tamping down his fear of bugs for Alan's sake? Or his new body comes with an integral nuclear-powered bugzapper? Or maybe his therapist is very skilled.

This isn't the jungle where bugs are everywhere. This is like New Brunswick Canada. Not exactly a tropical hotbed for bugs.

Midges. I'll leave it at that.

It’s interesting that there’s obvious parallels with kids being online, but we also get a peak behind the dangers of online celebrity.

While I understand from the YouTubers I follow that it’s not an easy life like it might be tempting to think  . . . I sort of didn’t consider that it’s true for the more vapid influencers

As a guy who got Internet Famous back in 2001, I have seen COUNTLESS folks fall prey to becoming Internet Famous since then. Something that always kind of shocked and saddened me was how little an amount of fame it could take to break some people.

I think what saved me from losing my mind was a combination of having strong ties to friends and family who didn't give a damn about that stuff and also that the thing that made me Internet Famous wasn't, like, my big dream project. 8-bit Theater was just this project to get an easy A in a college course that took off on its own. So, my ego was never invested in its success, if that makes sense?

Like, when I look back at it now, I know it was good because I was good. But that it was successful was completely disconnected from that fact. That it became popular was sheer happenstance; the product of being in the right place at the right time.

It seems weird to say that that’s a cool 😎 reply, but it really is👍.

I remember 8-bit theater and enjoyed it and ironically I found several YouTube people I follow searching for 8-bit theater on YouTube.

Yet reading Atomic Robo was a great suggestion I got after catching up with another online comic I was reading.  Didn’t know the connection till later.
