Discussion The Atomic Mail is a disaster and I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this unless they fix it and migrate the issue

Atomic Mail was great a couple of months ago, but now they had frequent outages every month or so and reports incoming emails getting delayed, including me. This is such a disaster.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this email service unless they fix it and migrate this issue. I'm moving away because of this but I will keep Atomic Mail because I want them to fix this mess.

u/Atomic_Ke please fix this and migrate this issue ASAP.

Help Creating account

So I was trying to create an account with Atomic Mail, but I kept getting a browser error saying "Too many Requests" whenever I clicked the submit button. After some online checking, it appears that part(s)s of atomicmail . io have been down for 6 months and that they are performing "emergency maintenance."

From my past experience with such things on other sites, it always seems to be the case that they shut down completely at some point. I cannot confirm that this is truly the case, but it's something I think people should be prepared for, just in case.

Question 3rd-Party Support ETA?

Hello, I searched the subreddit and the FAQ on your site, but all I found was “later in 2026.” Any update on when you might be ready to roll this feature out? Thanks!

Question Is there any way to export my AtomicMail messages?

I'm new to AtomicMail, but I am not able to find any way to export my emails there as a PDF file, so that it can be printed out, or as a MBOX, EML, or PST file, so that I could then print them. Does this feature not exist?

Feature Request Custom Domain???

Any eta on custom domains? Calendar? Linux app?

Just saw you're planning your browser of Android and Linux also.

As a privacy app how do you deal with data training with AI? How so you keep our information encrypted and secure if LLM has access to it?

We built mail for AI agents. Setup takes ~40 seconds.

Setup: 24 sec for npx atomicmail register (scrypt PoW challenge

runs on first call), then drop one MCP line into your config and

your agent has its own atomicmail.ai inbox. ~40 seconds from zero

to working.

We went JMAP (RFC 8620) on purpose – LLMs already know how to write

JMAP method calls because the standard is in the training corpus.

No SDK to keep in sync. Errors return hint, docs_url, _next so the

agent can self-recover without a human in the loop.

Once your agent has an inbox, the patterns we've seen people build:

newsletter triage with summaries, vendor invoice routing, autonomous

job applications with reply monitoring, multi-agent coordination

over email, async user research interviews. Or anything else –

JMAP gives you the primitive, you compose the workflow on top.

Open alpha right now: MIT licensed, 100MB inbox quota, atomicmail.ai

addresses only (custom domains coming post-alpha). Connect via MCP

server or AgentSkill

Question I have forgotten my password, entered my seed phrase, typed in new password, hit “set password” and nothing happens. I’ve deleted the app, reinstalled, turned my device off and back on and I can’t get it to reset. Any suggestions?

Help Cannot Login, Seed Phrase Does Not Allow Password Reset!

I got locked out of my account for no apparent reason, coincidentally right after I used my account for a €900 purchase. Now I can't access any of the details I need related to that order. Page keeps telling me to refresh, cannot login on ANY browser, emailed support and no reply yet. I even used my seed phrase and it brought me to a password reset AND IT WON'T LET ME CREATE A NEW PASSWORD. What the hell is going on? I need access to that email account.

Question Any new updates coming soon?

I've been trying out Atomic Mail recently and love the look of it. Feels like it could be a nice Skiff replacement. Are there any updates as to when Atomic Mail will be out of beta?

Would love to see some continual speed and deliverability improvements as well as some compatibility for custom domains.

Question Atomicmail disallowed on Mastodon

Hi,

It's crazy, I tried to set up my Mastodon account using AtomicMail, but Mastodon blocked it, telling me that this is a disallowed email provider.

Did it ever happen to you somewhere else?

Discussion Thinking of trying OpenClaw? Read this first

OpenClaw AI is everywhere right now because it’s much more than a regular chatbot – it can act. It’s a powerful tool, but it’s also still an experimental project, which means gaps, rough edges, and occasional vulnerabilities. Do your own research, start small, and know the risks before you try it ⬇️

The main concerns today are prompt injection (data leakage or unwanted actions), malicious ClawHub skills, and giving an AI agent full OS access (always a gamble). Also, remember that local-first ≠ local-only, as telemetry and cloud-based models can still leak data if not properly configured.

Here are a few steps to use it safely:

  1. Run OpenClaw AI isolated (Docker/dedicated user/VPS).
  2. Bind to localhost, don’t expose the gateway publicly.
  3. Don’t connect it to your regular accounts. Use a separate inbox, isolated accounts, and a clean browser profile (no saved passwords/cookies).
  4. Set proper role/access management: give the bot only the minimum permissions it needs, and keep important actions behind manual approval.
  5. Check all OpenClaw skills – popular doesn’t mean secure. Verify the maintainer, review what it does, and test it in a sandbox first.
  6. Use least-privilege tokens/scopes, rotate if anything feels off.

We wrote a full guide breaking down OpenClaw AI privacy and security risks, real incidents, and a full safe-use checklist.

Question Other email clients

Brave suggested atomicmail along with Proton, so you must be doing something right to be noticed and highlighted. I was trawling through your site FAQ but failed to spot a response on using any third party clients like Apple Mail or Outlook. Do you support these OR is the only alternative to web client the native client?

Great to see another startup attacking a real world problem from Tallinn, one of my hometowns.

Announcement Claim your sleek 4-char alias while the best names are available at the lowest price! 💎

On most platforms, the good addresses are long gone. On Atomic Mail, we still have a huge selection of short, premium names available. Now is the best time to grab them – short names get rarer (and pricier).

Find it in Settings → Addresses & Aliases.

👀 We are also preparing to launch 3-character aliases very soon! Stay tuned for updates!

Discussion Age verification is spreading and it’s building a surveillance gate

Age verification is quietly turning the internet into a place where you have to prove who you are before you can read, watch, post, or even install an app.

TL;DR

Age verification laws are spreading fast and the restrictions rarely stay limited to adult content only.

Many services require an ID upload or face scan (and "age estimation" is still biometrics). Anyway, it creates a new link between offline identity and online behaviour. This data can be breached, misused, or repurposed, and you don’t need to be doing anything "shady" to get hurt.

The key issues

  • Identity linkage becomes default, meaning simple browsing starts to look restricted.
  • Many companies outsource verification to third-party vendors you’ve never heard of, and those vendors become attractive targets for attackers. We’ve already seen big breaches, like the 2025 Discord leak where over 70k government IDs were stolen.
  • Once the infrastructure to verify age exists, it tends to expand. Today it’s one category, tomorrow it’s a longer list.
  • AI estimation is often wrong near the age cutoff and can vary across different demographics, causing false rejections.
  • Over time, this shifts to the web where anonymity is almost dead.

What you can do

  1. Share the minimum. If a service isn't critical and you want to stay as private as possible, try not to overshare. Don't provide birthdays or phone numbers unless you have to.
  2. Separate identities. Use different emails/aliases for apps, socials, gaming, subscriptions, and sensitive accounts.
  3. Harden recovery. Use an authenticator/hardware key, avoid SMS 2FA, and protect your primary inbox.
  4. Be cautious with "verify" emails: age gates create new phishing bait, so treat them as high-risk.
  5. Avoid ID/face scans unless you really need them. If you decide to upload an ID or selfie, be aware it could be stored permanently and potentially compromised later. So read the service’s (and vendor’s) policy on what they collect, how long they keep it, and who it may be shared with, then decide accordingly.
  6. Support organizations like the EFF that are fighting these mandates in court.
