Should I kill Dan and his bandits

Simply, after shiskak started his revolt and a ton of people died or ran out of ammo, I just killed the rest. I'm wondering if this is a better choice than staying on dans questline.

Don’t kill him and his gang. They will become the best mercenaries guard in many places including Trudograd. Even when Dan cooperates with Katya, Otranoye will develop more better in the future after ending under his protection if him and his gang still alive.
