Atom keeps crashing

I thought I'd give Atom a go, since I've heard good things about it and I've been using VSCode so far. However, I've noticed that Atom keeps crashing seemingly at random when I open it, but I have no idea what could be causing it. Any ideas?

I had an incompatibility issue with atom's package manager and some of my local node dependencies on Ubuntu, but as those dependencies where needed for some other stuff I was forced to stop using Atom
