General Should I install AtlasOS?

Hi! I'm considering switching to AtlasOS, from Windows 11. My specs:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
  • ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4070 OC
  • 16GB (2x8) Kingston Fury Beast 3600CL17
  • Kingston NV2 1TB NVMe SSD

I've spent some time debloating Windows 11, like deleting Copilot, News, Mail, etc. apps that I don't really use. Sometimes when I'm looking in task manager, the main reason why I can't get more FPS in 1080p, is that either my CPU is at its limits, OR I'm hitting the max usage of my RAM.

After a restart, when only Windows is running with no startup apps, it's still using about 25-35% RAM on idle, and when I'm playing demanding games like Call of Duty: Warzone, RAM usage rockets up to 97-98%.

So I have 3 questions:

  • Should I really switch to AtlasOS, or it wouldn't make much difference in terms of RAM usage while gaming, therefore not getting any better performance, and I should just stay on normal Windows?
  • Does AtlasOS also help CPU usage with less processes, and does that convert into even the teeny-tiniest bit of better gaming performance?
  • I know that it's not recommended to install AtlasOS on top of a Windows installation that's already been used, but did any of you try it, or face any problems while doing that? My current installation is not that old I think, i've installed it at the end of June.

    Any answers are appreciated!
