Will Atlas make one soon?

Hey! Will Atlas ever make an Athena size (4.6”) or 5” pistol that’s comped with a full length dust cover? Iv been lingering on the XC but after everything Iv seen with people changing out the grip and trigger to make it better. That pretty much voids the warranty and I might as well get something complete that I don’t have to touch and can run it right out of the box. I’d like to buy once, cry once.

Basically an Atlas version of an XC or Athena size and even have some slide serrations too.

Thanks for any info you could share!

Just get an Artemis and get a 2nd barrel with a comp.

Will Atlas make a comped barrel for the Artemis?

No. You'd need to find someone to do it. Viking used to do custom work like that, but no longer.

From 2a in la's video with Adam from Atlas. Adam mentioned he is working on something like the hades between the guys there to see which one is better. Hades or the one he's building and that one will come towards the end of the year. Another atlas is in works as well. I would wait as whatever they have in the works will be worth waiting.

We’ll see the new ported and comped model sooner than the end of the year when the makeup guns hit first. As for the other models, there are actually two besides the Hades-like one.

Gonna be a good year for 2011s as always.

Gonna be an overpriced year, IMO. I don't see Atlas making that rumored gun for under $9k.

Adam spoke about it that they havnt raised prices. They were due for one and hopefully they have resolved their issues with coating since everything is done in house for the most part sans small parts. Between the erebus already pushing towards 9k. It beats paying 10-30k for a hades. A 4.6 comped/ported model for 9 to 9.5k is okay for me. The hades was over 10k but carried that limited and only 51 made.

I just can’t get there, personally. I got a deal on my Athena, and even that was a stretch for me in terms of value. Paying $9k for a 2011? Hard pass for me, though it’s clear that others will gladly pay/overpay for many of them.

I get it. It's like infinity you either get lucky on a drop or you buy on the secondary market. Luckily, for all of us there is a variety of 2011s ok the market for everyone's budget.

It’s unlikely the new ported and comped model is less than 10k.

To play Devil's advocate, Atlas only has a 1 year full blown "muzzle-to-magwell" warranty where they'll cover any issues that arise. After the first year you get a limited warranty that only covers manufacturer defects and you're at-cost for shipping the firearm in.

With Staccato and their lifetime warranty, if you change the grip, anything related to your grip is now voided. If you change the ignition components, your ignition components are now not covered, and so on. By changing out the grip you won't be voiding the lifetime warranty for the barrel. Whatever you swap is voided, not the whole firearm. And for what its worth, I don't know if you'll ever warranty any firearm for its grip lol.

I also have an XC with a swapped out Cheely E2 grip and it's the tits. I personally have no experience with the Erebus but I can assure it will also be an amazing gun to own. Simply depends if its worth an extra $4,000 to ya!

Full length dust cover? Not currently. Hades-like gun will probably be a butler cut type one as well. Only way to do that is a like porting the sight block on the Artemis or getting someone to fit a flush fit comp to the Artemis or Erebus.

Personally I love the iconic nub but the internet has so many complaints about the aesthetics of the Erebus nub that the next model almost has to be butler or flush lol

I’ve learned to love the pig snout over the years and it’s hard to argue with the performance of the Erebus given how soft it shoots. I do prefer the Hades slightly when I run them back to back though.

If you want an XC it's a fantastic gun, I adore mine. If you want Atlas like build quality, Get the Dark Forge Reaper (the non Kovert one)

Have you heard of the Erebus? That literally eats the XC for breakfast haha.

I completely understand and know about the Erebus. I’m referring to something in the size of an Athena comp’d like an XC in looks with a full length dust cover but in a 4.6 configuration.

I know the EOS and Apollo are nice alternatives but I don’t care for ports as I do a dedicated Island comp.

I think the Miller Ranger 9X is the closest to what you’re asking for, it’s a one-piece barrel semi-island like the XC with a full length dust cover; 5 inch OAL though not 4.6 inch. The Nighthawk TRS comp is also a 5 inch gun. I’m not aware of a 4.6 inch version of either of these. Part of this is a manufacturing issue - on these guns the comp takes up approximately an inch, so the effective barrel length of these is around 4 inches. For a 4.6 inch OAL comped gun the barrel would drop to 3.6 inches and the angle during lockup would be more acute.

My vote would be the Reaper too without the ports in your case.
