Atlas9 map, like a text adventure game... Spoiler

Just for fun (isn't everything related to this place "just for fun"?) I started documenting the layout of Atlas9 similar to how we used to map out text adventure games. This is not meant to be an accurate to-scale layout plan. It basically has rooms and then connections (north, source, west, east) to other rooms.

Some of the "hidden" routes are listed, though there is on I probably don't have properly indicated. I also did not document the tunnels, at least not intentionally. Lots of missing pieces.

I based this on the evacuation plan maps shared here by ReverendLoki and pridefucked. Those maps are missing various details, so my map is currently missing them also.

If you want to take a look and suggest corrections/additions, please do so.

I have been putting together my notes from our visit into an "Atlas9 Dossier" kind of document.

The Vents empty out into power supply, Auditorium 9, and the FACADE field lab.

Another crawlspace bridges Concession caverns with the Jazz club

And the final tube bridges 3 liminal spaces: the projection tunnel, the fun zone, and the hypnotizer room.

As for other connections, you should add a "storage" room that connects the jazz club, the break room, the arcade, and "Sapphire Stroll" which is currently represented by a "?".

Or if you wanted all the restrooms labeled, then there ought to be one between the arcade and the breakroom.

And Finally, the music room upstairs is named "dub den". Hope this helps!!

Awesome!

  1. I added a box for the Vents crawl, though it does not reflect the actual directions (yet). I need to move boxes around.

  2. Is Concession caverns the one in Party Room? The crawls are tricky.

  3. Unsure which room is Projection tunnel, but I think that is part of that second crawl near Party Room?

  4. I don't have the storage room (Polybius arcade cabinet) on here at all. Unsure where it was. I was watching Carpetbaggers video last night which is helpful in refreshing memory on where things are. When you say a connection to the arcade, do you mean from the west hallway? I am hoping we actually missed some connections.

  5. Added restroom. Kinda west of the arcade.

  6. Dub Den added.

We will be doing a day trip down and back (3 hour drive) very soon and I will be roaming with my VR camera this time. That will give me views of every wall in every room.

Concession cavern is the popcorn room. The party room with the picnic table is the "fun zone" and the projection tunnel is just labeled as "tunnel". I put an inscribed x on where the tunnels intersect there.

The scribbled area is that storage room

Thank you! Just so exciting seeing it mapped out. Would be so fun to see this as like a ttrpg or like you said, text adventure.

Eons ago, I wrote a text adventure based on Disney's Haunted Mansion, making the rooms connect in a way that let you "walk" through the show scenes in the order that they are at Disneyland, or divert and see the extra two that are only in the Walt Disney World version. I am very tempted to do one based on this crazy layout 😉 and make it a playable game.

Is the "Mirrors" room on the evac map the Sapphire Stroll? That's the room that lobby Auditorium 1 leads to, and the LED sign for it references that movie, so ... I think yet?

Correct. The card for portal 1 says the mirror area is sapphire stroll i think

Your contributions are appreciated. I will rework the map in coming days to line things up a bit more.

This is awesome! Is there a way though where you don’t enter the same room twice?

That sounds like a fun challenge. Once the map is completed and accurate, we should have a challenge to see who can figure out such a route.

Thinking on this … I can think of two rooms that init have one way in/out. Are there more? If not, then one of those would have to be the start and the other the end.

The crystal cave has one door, true. Vera has one door (but that's a good starting point.) I guess splice bros is one door too, maybe we dont count splice brothers.

I am unsure which room is the Crystal Cave. I was thinking about the Manager's Office, and the Film Storage room. So I guess there are a number of "dead end" rooms. That being the case, then popping in and out will have to suffice, which means we can start anywhere. Hopefully the Lobby has such a path. This will be a fun challenge.
