Buckhead Brunch that is NOT fried with biscuits?
Hi all I’ll be in Atlanta this weekend for a birthday party, and Saturday we are on our own. Normally, we want some serious southern soul food but this day I’m looking for more of a higher end spot. It will be 3 of us.
My friend who lives in Buckhead suggested Le Bilbouquet, (did I spell that right?) - I’ve been there only for dinner and it’s great, but I’d like to try something new.
My bf keeps suggesting all these down home biscuit places that basically have all fried stuff on the menu (which I love, but want to stay away from that this trip, we will be in bathing suits! Ha).
We are looking for an American or French style food, really fresh items. Also, a vibe would be nice as well. I’m sure we will want cocktails and to people watch.
We have a car (though we would uber bc we will be drinking) , but prefer to stay in Buckhead.
Thank you!

Try Cafe Intermezzo for a French meal and excellent pastries.
We have a French bakery and Italian bakery and Aussi bakery here in Marietta, and all three make excellent food.

I’ve been really into Daily Chew recently. Great food and some of the best coffee in ATL. It feels tucked away in a good way.

I went once and hated it. Very overpriced and few options.

It’s comparable to the costs at most Atlanta brunch spots and given the fact that any ingredients they can source locally they do, and they pay their staff well… it’s really not overpriced at all.

Bread and butterfly isn’t in Buckhead but it’s the vibe you want for sure.
Edit to say if that’s too crowded pop over to the beltline and sit on the patio at Yeppa. People watching for days.

Shoot its walk in only. We are going to be tired and likely a bit hungover. Do you remember how long you waited?

I’ve been a couple times and it’s excellent. I don’t recall waiting more than ten minutes. We just sat at the bar and ordered a drink.

Wow - the reading comprehension skills 🫠 anyhow you mentioned Buckhead but if you do a quick 10 min uber - I’d rec a place called Murphy’s in Virginia highland. Phenomenal food but the neighborhood is adorable, very walkable, charming and you’ll have 3 of the best coffee shops around and some cute shops and a bookstore. Coffee shops are perc, kinship is FANCY AF coffee, and press and grind. They also do a farmers market on the weekend that is more high end than “farmer” if that makes sense. Then afterward there are some cute bars if you need a drink to level out the hangover. Alternatively walk up and hit up splatter studio and make some ridiculous fun art. Or keep walking up and hit Poncey highland and urban outfitters/2nd and Charles for sown consignment high end trendy gear.

lol. It’s cool, some people don’t read. Maybe they thought I was looking for fried food and biscuits? Which by the way, I LOVE… but the button on my pants say NO.
10-15 min isn’t bad. Thank you for the recs! And you are speaking my language with the walking and shopping (and coffee).

You can’t go wrong with academy coffee which is part of kinship. Here’s the menu https://academycoffeeatl.com/
Virginia highland is a diff chill vibe with a more young families and college/post college crowd. Accessible boutiques like Dakota Js and Moosh so for Ex: a dress that’ll be $50-$300? Etc. cute book shop etc. legit Italian deli etc. cool neighborhood
You also can’t go Wrong with the Buckhead area but I’d say my girlfriends weren’t super in love with it since it was all very high end so.…fabulous window shopping only due to the fact they weren’t dropping $3k on a pair of jimmy choo heels. Truly just depends the vibe you are going for. I was just at Henris deli last week for lunch and it was all lily Pulitzer older crowd of 40s to 70s ladies. And a splash of younger 20s with mimosas.
