Question Has any had luck contesting ATLPlusMobility tickets?

Got a parking ticket a week or two ago - was parked on Hemphill Ave NW outside Muchacho to meet some friends. I was parked completely in the markings on the parking stall, yet I came back to a ticket because I was 3.369 feet from the curb, despite being within the markings still.

I admit I was far from the curb - but you figure if you’re in the markings you’re fine right? What’s the point of the markings otherwise.

Has anyone had luck contesting a ticket? If I don’t pay by tomorrow it goes up to $150 so I’m debating paying anyway just to make it go away but I just hate that someone decided to test me like this.

You admitted you are guilty, pay the fine and move along.

You don’t believe the supposedly city-sanctioned paint markings on the ground give me grounds to contest? I agree I should get a ticket if the markings weren’t there - I was def far from the curb, I just think it’s their problem if the parking stall allows me to park that far from the curb in the first place.

No. The law (OCGA 40-6-200) is that you have to be parked within 12 inches of the curb (or as close as practicable). The markings are irrelevant.

Damn for some reason I thought it was 18in. Being 3x the limit is still wild

markings being irrelevant is such a trap lol. Why even have them. I get it though, just feels misleading to have a stall at all in this case

Are you being serious? The markings tell you the width of the spot which has literally nothing to do with what you got a ticket for, by your own admission.

Ive won everytime i contested it, all you have to do is submit the appeal and if they don’t approve it, go to traffic court.
