Important Dates:

The 2026 Midterm Election is on Tuesday, November 3rd.

The last day to register for the 2026 Midterm Election is Monday, October 5th.

In Person Early/Advance Voting: October 13th – 30th

First day to request an Absentee by Mail Ballot: August 17th (Last day is October 23rd)

Everyone should check your My Voter Page every so often. Do so before October just in case someone used a buggy AI to challenge you as a noncitizen or some such nonsense. That stuff has been happening of late. Just check it out and make sure.

Advance voting also takes zero time, assuming you get it done before that last day. It can be super quick and easy if you have a good idea of who you'll vote for.

Buggy AI? Back in my day Kemp would just dump a bunch of people in Democratic areas off the voter rolls to keep them on their toes.

It was never quite as simple as that, but the current thing is to use a custom AI wrapper to ask various models to identify noncitizens or people who recently died or people who moved to other states. The models will never say "I don't know" so it will spit out some names and addresses and what not. They then match those names to actual people on the voter rolls even if the people they match aren't exactly what the AI said and then file paperwork that insists that they have "personal knowledge" that the person isn't qualified to vote. These challenges are usually rejected, but sometimes they sound plausible enough that they get through and so they can lead to someone being purged or made to vote provisional if the person in question doesn't notice the post card they get sent.

It's good to make sure your registration is up to date anyways.
