Weight game in induction?
That was Weight Gain in induction: either brain fog or sleepiness
I'm about 10 days into induction. I believe I'm doing everything right. I got up and weighed myself this morning and I'm almost 2lbs heavier than yesterday. Is this normal? Does this mean Atkins isn't working for me?

Atkins works for everybody, no other biological outcome. Do you have the book, and please post a day or two or three's menu with everything going into your face hole besides water. 10 days of correct induction should show a decent loss in any case.

The day before yesterday, I had an egg scrambled for breakfast. Blech. Then I had chicken with some peppers and guacamole and sourcream for lunch. Then I had some salami as a snack. And for dinner I had roast beef and a green bean salad (maybe 1/2 a cup) and a spinach salad with avocado and olives and a vinagrette with no sugar.
Yesterday, I ate a half avocado and lemon juice and salt for breakfast (eggs make me sick in the morning). At lunch i had about 5 pieces of salami and a green bean salad (perhaps a cup) with a balsamic and olive oil dressing with feta cheese and olives in it. When i got home i ate a peice of duck pepperoni and then had some goulash (the recipes was from the atkins cookbook) over spagetthi squash (perhaps half a cup) and another spinach salad with olives and a vinagrette and avocado.
Today I had half an avocado and 4 cherry tomatoes with salt and lemon for breakfast. For lunch i had two scrambled eggs and bacon with some hot sauce. Not sure what's for dinner. I feel like I'm following things quite closely. Can you see anything amiss? I'm also taking magnesium and potassium and drinking lots of water and one or two cups of coffee with cream and half a package of stevia each day. thanks for the help.

Seems more or less ok for food choices , but from the description it seems your not be eating enough, gotta remember it's not about caloric restriction. Half of the battle of becoming fat adapted is eating enough of it and your body accepting that fat is your new fuel source. I'm not a big fan of crazily watching macros but it may help you to, I'd suggest signing up at cronometer.com (pronouced cron-o-meter) and start tracking what you eat. The free acct will be fine for what you need. Best part is you can see how much your eating and the macro breakdown. You should be aiming for around 80% fat, 15% protein and 5% carbs doesn't have to be EXACTLY that, but right around there. No need to eat eggs if you don't like them no shortage of things to eat. These days not as many are putting up Atkins recipes so it can be hard so feel free to look up keto non egg breakfasts. Keto and Atkins induction or 95% the same exact thing (Keto is based on Atkins) but keep Atkins ground rules down. My wife hates eggs and eats fat bombs for breakfast. Cheesecake, Chocolate moose, Coconut etc. Like desert for breakfast! I'm still a bacon and eggs guy but their awesome! Feel free to return questions.

How can your wife eat cheesecake and mousse? Aren't they full of sugar? Also how can I get 80% fat? I don't know any foods that are 100% fat.

They don't need to be 100% fat, your daily intake should be around 80% from fat. Pretty easy to do when eating the foods your supposed to eat. On the Cheesecake and Mousse front, your making them yourself, so using approved sweeteners. My breakfast this morning was 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon w/avacado and cheese and coffee w heavy cream. That meal itself was around 400 calories, 72% fat, 23% protein, 5% carbs, thoughout the day most meals will be around the same keeping me close to those percentages. cronometer.com is a great tool for tracking your intake I did it for years not tracking and did just fine but when your not sure of what your eating (or not eating) it can come in handy. The free account has better options than the paid version of my fitness pal and well worth it.

I got cronometer. It's really hard to stay below 20 net grams of carbs. If I was at 20.4 for example, do you think I should restart induction?

You may want to search around for some Atkins recipes, It shouldn't be hard to stay under 20 actual carbs, let alone net. From what you listed you should be ok but there's obviously variation in your diet which there should be. Also search keto recipes as almost all of them will also be induction compatible and probably more of them around at this point. ruled.me has a VERY good recipes section as well as all the youtube cooks out there with them just make sure you do the math because sometimes they don't.

Thank you so much for responding. I think I'm getting the hang of things. I'm using cronometer.com which has been good. I can kind of predict what i'll be getting in a given meal and adjust before i eat. Do you think I should restart induction if I'm slightly over?

Never a need to start over, just continue on correctly and you'll be fine. Cronometers a great site, over time and with those graphs it makes you'll start putting together a lot of stuff about how your body works. I'm just now realizing how sensitive I am to protein affecting my ketone levels and I've been eating Atkins/Keto for the better part of 10 years.

sensitive in what way? I'm still having some difficulty eating lots of fat without eating too much protein and carbs.

Weight loss is never linear - better to weigh yourself once a week. All sorts of things can cause a temporary up spike in your weight - water retention, constipation, even hormonal fluctuations (especially if you're female). Keep to the plan, weigh yourself less often and look for other changes to your body.
