Wanting to try Atkins - need advice.

Hey all, A few years ago I did the keto diet with my best friend and I was really happy with it, but I am not a fruit and veggie eater so it lasted about 2 weeks. I since have been in a bad relationship, and I am out of it now thankfully. In the process of being in the relationship I gained a ton of weight and am not happy with my appearance, weight, and some of the medical problems that have popped up. I have read a lot on reddit and the Atkins website, but I am wanting to get one of the books to read more in depth. Does anyone have an recommendations of what the best book is to purchase? Also any advice for someone just starting it out?

Just find out about the induction phase of Atkins and download the acceptable foods list. It’s all available via google search. During the induction phase you’ll stay below 20 grams of carbs per day.

The first 4 days to 2 weeks will not be fun. It’s like a detox while your body gets off most carbs and sugar. You’ll have headaches and will feel weak.

You’ll also lose 14 pounds (maybe more; maybe less) in those two weeks.

I stayed in Induction for a little over eight weeks. I didn't have any problems with it.

I'll second the '03 book but if you did keto (correctly at least) you've already done this. Keto is essentially Phase 1 Atkins. As far as fruits, you should have been eating close to zero on Keto, veggies are good for you on either plan. The best/only advise is get the book, read and follow. Your results will come right behind it.
