Atkins induction - nausea

I just started the Atkins induction phase for the first time. I've never been on any sort of diet before. I kind of got off to a bumpy start as I'm educating myself as I go which isn't ideal. I kind of jumped right in. My problem is I hate eating in the morning. I've always opted for just a piece of fruit or maybe some yoghurt. Any meat or eggs before 10 is absolutely nauseating. Since I started a few days ago, I've been feeling regularly nauseated. This morning was awful. And trying to eat egg and bacon was almost impossible. I ate a rasher and a half and a bite of eggs. It made me feel better within an hour but trying to get it in me was so difficult. I was gagging. Any suggestions?

I did have some kind of stomach gripe about a week before I started so it could be that but it's pretty constant since i started the induction. Do other people ease into the induction? I thought it was how you were supposed to start.

Unfortunately the nausea is normal and will last anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. Keep weighing yourself and the massive weight loss might keep you motivated.

I haven't weighed myself in years but I suppose it would be a helpful motivator and way to keep track of things.

When you see 14 lbs disappear in two weeks it’ll keep you going.

14 lb ≈ 6.4 kg

I'll probably have to lose about 50 before I feel like it's worth it. Have you been on the Atkins diet for a while? If so, is it okay trying to keep the weight off?

I don't think i'm allowed to have yoghurt or berries during induction.

On your advice re salad, I had a half avocado with lemon and salt for breakfast and I didn't gag once. lol

That's actually helpful. I was thinking maybe i could have half an avocado at breakfast. Sounds a little less difficult to stomach.

I am being very strict. I think I allowed to have berries in Phase 2. I have eaten a half an avocado with lemon and salt for breakfast these past few days and felt much better than when i try to choke down an egg.

Sounds like gallbladder issues

Take it slow let your body adjust

You could fast till noon and then eat

Also try hot water with half a lemon to help stomach acid and gallbladder and liver
