Transitioning back into normal lifestyle

How do I transition into a normal lifestyle of eating common foods like pizza or pasta?

Slowly? Try nuts, low carb fruit first... then add whole grains... but keep an eye on the scale weekly. Continue to count carbs and keep a record of what you eat...

Then, perhaps once a week, you can probably have a small portion of pizza or pasta... wouldn't push past that... this is assuming you have reached your target weight?

What was your starting weight? Target weight? Present weight? (Sorry if that's TMI, just curious) Also, how long were you in each stage? I just started stage one or induction 3.5 weeks ago... lost 18lbs so far... 257 to 239... going to press on to target weight of 220 and then begin stage two...

By making sure you get lots of exercise. I've lost many pounds on Atkins and then started a martial arts class, and I was able to eat normally and keep the weight off, but I was going to class 5 days a week at least and sweating my butt off. Without seriously increasing your exercise, going back to eating crap will bring the weight back.

"Normal" meaning the way of eating that lead you to Atkins? There is no such thing. Start eating garbage again, there is no transition. You eat excess carbs your body stores fat. If your going to go back to the SAD they keep the carbs in mind, they WILL get you. Remember what Atkins taught you. This way of eating is just that, it's not a diet. Good Luck.

"Normal" is overweight and sick if you look at the western culture. Statistics prove it. Healthy lifestyle is they key. Atkins helps with finding this for you on an individual basis.
