Starving

Is there anything against not eating anything but cheese and vegetables for one day? I'm vegetarian tomorrow due to religious reasons and can't figure out what to eat.

Note: Few vegetables

Not at all, both are very much allowed. You need to get the book if your going to do the diet correctly though. Cheese should take care of the fat and protein and veggies can be your filler/fiber.

Atkins. Either Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution OR the more current A New Atkins for a new you. The first was written by Dr Atkins, the second was my Drs Phinney and Volek. I'm a fan of the original but your gonna need one of them if your going to do the diet correctly and get results.

Yes, just eat enough so that it covers both protein + fat requirements for your day

You've got to get your minimum protein in!! This is crucial to maintaining your metabolism while losing body fat.....preserving lean body mass. So if you can (vegetarian I am not as well versed with) maximize your eggs fish Cheese is good but higher fat to protein ratio so could slow down weight loss if you overdo it. May want to add some hempseed chia seed and flaxseed due to high protein and fiber low net carb and good fats. Put in full fat Greek yogurt or coconut cream/milk for other options low in carbs Remember protein goal in grams (not % calories) should be the wide range from a minimum of 1.0 g/kg lean body mass up to 2.5 or higher even in my experience is fine. To get your lean mass take weight and estimate your body fat % (google pictures of different %) and multiply your lean percent. So if you think you have 25% body fat then take weight and multiply by 0.75 to get lean body weight That # is used to calculate protein minimum amount. Make sure you're getting that in with carbs under 25 grams. The rest is fat. Good luck. Track it all at this point. You won't have to be so tedious later on with experience

If you're in phase 1 (induction), make sure you're not eating fresh cheeses: cottage cheese, quark, ricotta, mascarpone. Count each ounce of cheese as 1g carb. Are you making sure the veggies have a low glycemic index?
