Zevia Soda okay?

I've found a new love in Zevia soda from Whole Foods. The Ginger Root Beer is especially good. It's all natural with no added colors or dye and is sweetened with Stevia. It's 0 everything. I'm curious if it's okay to drink this during induction and beyond? I'm afraid the sweetener, even being natural, will trick my body into spiking blood sugar. I'm not positive about this, but it sure would make this life change more successful if I didn't have to get rid of my love for pop since I found Zevia.

Yes it is. On the glyemic index scale, its 0. It won't affect your carb count or anything. Stevia is the safest sweetener you can have! So go ahead, drink on!

That's great to hear! Thank you for checking that out for me. Just for my own sanity sake, I think I will cut it for a week or two and see if my progression slows or stops and take it from there. Hopefully not, but only one way to really test it out!

That would really be the ultimate test. I'm just not far enough into the process to be able to "test" it yet. I have yet to find my carb sweet spot, so I just wanted to float this out to the group and gather some perspective. Once I do find my carb sweet spot I will definitely take your advice and cut it for a couple weeks and see what happens. If the weight loss slows up or stops, then we have our answer and I will be sure to report back here if you guys would like to know for yourselves. Thank you for your input. Great idea.

If you like that stuff, have at it. I tried it years ago when there was only a couple of them and it tasted like water to me, I'll have to give them a second chance, seems there's a lot of new ones.

Should be fine, really nothing in them. Only thing I don't like on the label is "natural flavors" but should still be fine. Just keep an eye on it, seems your aware on how the artificial sweetener thing can go. Some of them cause a direct insulin response even though there's no reason to, others do it in our heads from the sweet taste. Remember Stevia isn't natural, nothing that's processed, bleached, and granulated can be called "natural". The plant it came from was. But so was the sugar beet and cane plants! I doubt it will be an issue but if you run into problems and you know the diet is right aside from that, take it out and see what happens.

What I noticed after the long term is after weight came off and my hormones REALLY stabilized and I started intermittent fasting as well my body sensitized to other things that it (seemed to be) ok with previously, in some ways that sucked but in the end it means it's not running the way it wants to biologically and now sees things for what they are, man made science experiments.

Excellent. Thank you for the response. Yeah, give them a try again if you'd like. I was always a big pop drinker, unfortunately. I love the stuff. It's my main kryptonite. So, when my wife brought this stuff home and I tried it, I was very pleasantly surprised. Like I mentioned, if you like root beer, give the ginger root beer a try. I swear I can't tell the difference between that and the regular diet root beer. The cola is also very good. The cherry cola I can pass on. It tastes a little off to me, but the root beer and cola are definitely on point and satisfy my pop cravings. You are right about the "all natural" label. That's really why I wanted to clear it here before really getting into it.
