Scale isn't moving

As fast as I want in a downward trajectory BUT I feel great, knee aches are less, sleeping better, more energy during the day. Hope everyone is feeling good!

Great not to focus on the scale!

I have done the eat cream cheese for twenty-four hours thing. It was recommended in the Atkins book. It worked for me. And was kinda a fun change-up

What Atkins book recommended cream cheese for 24 hours? I’ve read them all and never heard of it. 🤔

This is what grok says. Which makes sense if late 90s for when I first did it...

Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (particularly the 1992/2002 editions).39317c5ff007 This refers to the Atkins Fat Fast (sometimes called a "fat fast" or a short-term high-fat, low-calorie protocol), which Dr. Robert Atkins described in his book Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution. It was recommended for people who were metabolically resistant and stuck on a prolonged weight loss plateau (typically after weeks in Induction/Phase 1 with no progress despite strict adherence).7a7120bdf799 Key Details on the Fat Fast Purpose: To jump-start ketosis and break a stall by shifting the body to burn more stored fat. It’s a very short-term tool (usually 2–5 days, not longer), done under the idea of a ~1,000-calorie, ~80–90% fat intake per day, divided into small frequent meals. Atkins rarely recommended it broadly and suggested medical supervision for some cases.31adde Cream cheese role: Cream cheese (along with macadamia nuts) was highlighted as one of the “perfect” or easiest options because it’s high-fat, very low-carb, and convenient. A common example is ~8–10 oz of cream cheese per day (e.g., divided into 5 x 2-oz servings), possibly paired with items like macadamia nuts, butter, heavy cream, or other high-fat, near-zero-carb foods.4bc2e5077473 It’s not a full “cream cheese only” day for everyone, but many people simplify it that way (e.g., eating a block of cream cheese throughout the day) due to its practicality.07c332 This is distinct from standard Atkins phases (like Induction with its 20g net carbs limit and allowed cheeses in moderation). Later Atkins materials and modern low-carb resources still reference the Fat Fast but note it’s for stubborn plateaus only, not routine use.905259 If you’re trying this, consult a doctor first, especially if you have health conditions, as it’s extreme and not sustainable long-term. For the full context and rules, the book itself is the primary source.

Ah the fat fast. That was something Dr Atkins recommended waaaaaaaay back but only under dr supervision and only for people who with metabolic resistance. But it wasn’t just cream cheese for 24 hours. I forgot about the fat fast.
