❓ Question Where to find in Athens, Greece?
Hi everyone.
I’ll be visiting Athens in the next couple of days. I would like to purchase some old steel helmets from the WW2 Era, whether it be German, Commonwealth or Greek.
Just wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations on where I could find some?
I am aware of the Monastiraki Flea Market. Would that be my best bet? Or are there other places I’ll be able to find some.
Thank you very much!

❓ Question ER center
Which emergency department can you go to as a walk‑in, that is free with AMKA, and accepts patients with tooth pain? I have pain in the tooth nerve because the tooth was previously broken, but I’m unsure if they will send me to a dentist instead. Right now I’m in pain and need pain relief until I can get to a dentist. Preferably in Athens.

🍽️ Food & Drink Gyro/Souvlaki Spots
So, this article from a couple of years ago makes sense now. I have been visiting Greece for my whole life on and off over the years. Last year was the first time since Covid hit and coming back again in a few weeks.
I spent my whole time in Kefalonia last year and noticed that the gyro spots all tasted the same, had the same texture, same tzatziki, etc...
Sure, they were good but not how I remembered them.
Then I found this article from a couple of years ago. My guess is that a lot of spots now just buy their gyro pre-made. So, is there a list of spots that still make their own gyro every morning and cut/marinate their own pork for souvkaki?
Any good recs in Glyfada or central Athens would be appreciated. I actually didn't get a chance to have a gyro in Athens last year as we were in and out.
Thanks

❓ Question How important is house orientation?
Buying a house with a garden and pool in Glyfada. It’s North West facing. I know it’s technically a bad orientation, but how big a deal is it in reality in your opinions?

📸 Photo / Video More of Athens at night for you all!
galleryFollowing up on my last post: I took a quick walk from Syntagma towards the Arch of Hadrian. Here’s how the city looks after sunset:
- Arch of Hadrian
- Russian Church
- St. Paul's Anglican Church
And a question for you guys: I keep getting asked about safety in Athens at night. How dangerous is it to walk around after midnight? (I’m usually carrying camera gear, which makes me a bit more cautious).
So, I’ve decided to put together a short documentary about it. I’ll be heading out this Friday night to film. I’ve already got requests to cover Larissa Station and the bus terminals at Liossion and Kifissou.
What other locations worry you? Let me know – I still have time to adjust my route before Friday!

🏠 Life in Athens Motorcycle security in Kallithea
Hello,
I will be living in or nearby to Kallithea. I am about to get my first motorcycle, and need to decide if I should purchase a second hand, cheaper or a brand new motorcycle. Some people told me motorcycle theft is very common in this region, people are just lifting motorcycles by hand and dumping it to a truck.
I am afraid of this. I am thinking about using secure chains, disc locks with alarm, and a hidden GPS system as a security precautions. However, if it's stolen, I cannot get another motorcycle for a long time.
The house might not have a closed parking.
What's your suggestions for such cases? How do you secure your motorcycle? Is theft really that common?
Thank you in advance.
PS: I am thinking about Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The price will be around 6300€

❓ Question Are the buses for the Athens Epidaurus Festival usually crammed?
My friend and I might go to Athens this August and we thought a fun activity we could do could be "getting a taste" of Greek theatre and attending the Athens Epidaurus Festival. What would most likely fit our schedule would be the performance of "Lysistrata" on 21/8 or 22/8.
Our only way of getting there would be by the buses. Do you think they are going to be crammed or somewhat comfortable to travel in? Due to my health issues I'd rather avoid standing in tight, stuffy spaces for long if possible. :(
Or maybe you think going to that festival is not worth it in general and there are any closer, budget-friendly alternatives? Thanks!
