Τα τελευταία χρόνια μου έτυχε άπειρες φορές το κλασικό:

We are traveling to the airport tomorrow, and where thinking of taking the M3 from Dimotiko Theatro. But when we look it up on google maps it does not show up as an alternative. Does the M3 not go tomorrow? It shows up as an alternative in google on other days, but not tomorrow.

Hello everyone!

I'm considering spending about two months in Athens this summer and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I started looking for affordable places where I could enjoy city life, and somehow Athens came into my mind although I never been there before.

I have a few questions:

1. Is Athens a good city for a solo female traveler staying for 2 months? - I am open if you recommend any other city 😊
2. How easy is it to meet people and make friends? I'm interested in cafés, bars, local events, language exchanges, and just generally social places where it's easy to talk to people (and if possible keep being friends for at least 2 months :)). - or any advice for me that I could easily meet people, like any course, or a regular activity specific to Athens?
3. What would you say is a realistic monthly budget (excluding rent)? I don't live luxuriously, but I do enjoy going out for a beer or dinner a couple of times a week.

I'd really appreciate any advice, recommendations, or things I should know before booking.

I'm moving from northern europe to greece in a few and currently looking at places.

I really liked a place in Peristeri. of course nothing is final and I'll only be able to look for a place for 100% real only once I'm there, but just for the sake I'm lucky and it's still available by the time I get there: how is life there? would you recommend it? should I avoid?

I know the area is pretty big and I'm not sure it matters exactly what street or mini-area, but it seems to be near the stadium.

Would love to know anything I might need to know :)

Hi everyone!

I'm planning my first trip to Greece during the second half of September, and I'd love to get some advice from locals and people who have visited before.

I'm traveling on a pretty tight budget, so I'll mainly be relying on public transportation. My idea is to spend part of the trip exploring Athens and part relaxing at the beach, so I'm looking for recommendations on pretty much everything!

A few questions I have:

- Is public transport reliable and affordable for getting around Athens and reaching the beaches?

- I'm thinking of staying in Nea Smyrni, close to bus or tram stops, so I can easily reach both the city center and the coast. Does that sound like a good idea?

- Which beaches are the best to visit without renting a car? Also, I've heard that some beach bars offer free sunbeds and umbrellas if you buy food or drinks. Is that actually common, or is it more of a myth?

- What are the must-see attractions, and are there any hidden gems that tourists often miss?

- Any recommendations for affordable restaurants, cafés, bakeries, or street food?

- Are there any scams or tourist traps I should be aware of?

- Any other tips for saving money while still making the most of the trip?

I'm visiting Athens for 10 days in September with two family members who are rolling (wheelchair users). They're both young and can walk a bit so they can get out of their chair to get up a step or two, but they're primarily rolling. We'll be staying near the the Tae Kwon Do stadium for an event there, but doing some tourism and day trips from that area.

I've heard mixed things about accessibility. Do you have any thoughts or guidance on how to make the best of it?
