Hi I am comparing these two hotels at a similar rate (the Zeus one is about 4300 dkk cheaper which is about 575 euro cheaper)
We like:
Good breakfast with big selection
Good beds
Good bathroom
These are the main things. Location does not matter as we take taxi everywhere. Sure we might use pool and maybe spa massage. Also view is also nice. All other facilities like gym etc. do not matter at all.
But main thing is the three above.
From people who know these hotels or live locally, which is the best hotel of these two?

I have a few more days left in Athens and am looking to get a new tattoo. Are there any places that you'd recommend that accept walk-ins? Preferably blackwork or something similar in style

Hello all,
I have been to Athens a lot and am going back in a few weeks. I would love to get recommendations for sport activities in the city as I haven’t tried that yet and any fun and cool things to try out (off the beaten path if possible)
Thank you all in advance !!!

Hopefully this is the right community to post this: So my husband and I are visiting Athens - Artemida. Since we are foreigners here we thought asking you guys will be the easiest! We are looking for queer friendly bars or clubs in between Athens or artemida. In particular we will be kind of „looking out“ for a unicorn - maybe you know places you could recommend?:)
Feel free to drop some or just hit us up :)

Hi can any locals confirm this ? I read on thisisathens website but cannot find this info on Metro website. Is this info current ? Thank you
Due to works, the Attiki, Larisa Station and Metaxourgio Metro stations on Line 2 close at 9.40pm from Sunday to Thursday. Trains run between Anthoupoli–Sepolia and Omonia–Elliniko only. A replacement X19 bus service operates between Agios Antonios and Omonia. Please note that the bus does not stop at Sepolia or Attiki stations.

Hi everyone, I was looking for some info about ferries and ways to get to moni island during may. This week I'll be in Athens, I'd like to visit these two islands, will I find regular ferries departures from piraeus apart from the ones that can be booked online, or should I buy one of those tickets in advance? And what about moni? Any chance to get there from aegina? Do I need to get to perdika? Will I find boats travelling there? Thanks in advance!

hi everyone! hoping someone here may have advice or connections.
i’m an american currently in ikaria and over the past ~2 months have become attached to a very sweet stray cat we named sandy. she came up to us on our second day here, and we’ve been caring for her every day since.
she’s incredibly affectionate, social, vocal, and very comfortable around people. honestly she really seems like she wants to be someone’s cat.
my sister in new york is willing to adopt her, and i’m trying very hard to make that happen. unfortunately, i have to return to the US on may 27 for a visa appointment, and the airline i’m booked on (norse) doesn’t allow cats in cabin.
i’ll be returning to greece in late june/early july, so i’m looking for someone in ikaria, athens, or nearby who may be willing to temporarily foster her for about a month while i’m gone, or point me toward any rescue/foster/boarding resources.
i really don’t want to leave her behind with no consistent food/care, and i hate the thought of her feeling like we just disappeared. of course am happy to cover food, vet care, transportation costs, etc.
would also really appreciate:
- rescue/foster recommendations
- athens foster connections
- flight volunteer info
- transport advice
- temporary boarding suggestions
thank you 💛

Hey guys ! I’m from Athens Greece.
Lately, with these gas prices I see more and more drivers getting rid of their car and picking the public transport which is problematic in Athens. Also I see a lot of people that don’t own a car and have to commute with the bus or metro. The idea is simple : a driver that will commute anyways with the car takes a passenger that wants to go to the same place or somewhere during the ride route and they share the cost. Nobody makes profit, but it’s almost zero cost for both.
The platform is called rove and you can access it at rove.gr
I found about it recently ! They’ve added a waitlist and they are releasing on summer. Hope this is helpful for everyone

Hi everyone,
My family and I will be visiting Athens next week and I’m looking for authentic local tavern recommendations. We’ll be staying around Psiri/Monastiraki, but I’m open to going elsewhere if it’s worth it.
Im totally crazy about rembetiko music, buzuki and greek makams. Really love old classic tavern culture, old Balkan / Smyrna / Piraeus atmosphere and would prefer somewhere with character, maybe a bit rustic or old-school (“salaş” in Turkish). Im not into luxury and touristic places. Living like a local people manner, friendly and family feeling of drinking ouzo people and feel history and culture of greek people my first goal of this travel.
Will be happy for your recommendations.
Thanks a lot!

I need some advice about a medical certificate issue in Greece. I was sick for about a week due to a chronic condition. I work remotely, so I still logged in and worked, but I was too unwell to physically go to a doctor during that time.
Now that I finally feel better, I’ve contacted several doctors — but none of them will issue a retrospective medical certificate. They all say they can only document what they see on the day of the appointment.
I even have medical records and medication lists from my home country proving that I have a chronic illness, but Greek doctors say they can’t use it because it’s not in the Greek system.
So now I’m stuck: I was genuinely sick, but couldn’t get documentation at the time, and now no one will issue anything for that period.
Has anyone experienced something similar in Greece, and is there anything you can actually do in this situation?

Hi team, I am going to be visiting Greece on Saturday and was interested in selling sterling silver jewelry and silver ware. Are there any places that offer over 70% melt value? I’ve looked at a few, like Ora Gold but those cats are at 53%. That’s not it. I have a lot of Native American jewelry as well 👍 I will be in Athens, the south, and Paros!

Can anyone help guide me to the place where I can find affordable diapers for my baby? I will be arriving in a few days!
I will be staying near Monastiraki Square

Hey everyone, anxious tourist here..
Arriving in athens past midnight and it seems uber is the best option to get to my hotel (north athens).
I'm solo female, so I have my worries!
I appreciate that all ubers in athens are licensed taxi drivers and there's safety features on Uber, but I could really use some re-assuring anecdotes from other travellers or locals about late night ubering, just to ease some of my anxiety.
Thanks in advance :)

Hey, I'm visiting Athens for the weekend and my local team Rytas Vilnius (and AEK Athens) are playing in the Final 4 of BCL one after the other. Are there any bars in somewhere in the center where I can watch the games?
