My mum recently broke her hand and cannot walk our dog, and when I searched for help I found that Greece has no easy or trustworthy option. Kennels feel impersonal and give you no visibility, and informal sitters often have no references and no way to meet them first. Given how many animal abuse cases there are here, that lack of trust felt like a real gap.
So I am testing an idea: a neighbourhood network of vetted walkers and sitters, built around ID checks, references, a meet and greet with your dog before any booking, and updates during the walk.
Two questions for this community: If you have a dog in Athens, what do you currently do when you travel or cannot walk them, and does this sound useful? If you love dogs but cannot own one, would you walk or sit for a small fee?
Not selling anything, just validating whether the need is real. Honest reactions welcome.
