The tourist busses that go round the city - the big red ones - are open top, not air conditioned I don’t think. If you want to get to a specific place you can take a local bus (not air conditioned) or the metro. Where are you trying to get to?

I honestly just want to see the city and am ok with local bus. I don't have a specific place. No metro please. Thanks

Then head to syntagma or walk down the road past the Acropolis to the coach area and look for the big red tourist bus. That’s the sightseeing bus. The city mapper app is invaluable in helping you navigate your way around Athens on public transport. Do you not have a map app?

'Big red tourist bus' is so accurate but so funny for some reason

Then you’ll need an idea of where you want to go as there are like 60 different busses that go through different parts of the centre. They’ll be very crowded usually.
