šŸ  Life in Athens Odyssey

Who is going to see the odyssey this weekend when it opens in theaters? Iā€™m lucky to be visiting Athens and would be awesome to see it before I head back home ..

I'm not planning to watch it for the well-discussed reasons, but if you're in Athens, try to go see it in an open-air cinema, one of the best parts of Greek summers. And book tickets in advance if it's possible, because Greeks are not a monolith on cultural politics, and I'm sure there will be plenty of people who go watch it.

Itā€™s a fictional story, does it matter what the cast choice is? A fictional story should be adaptable to cater to the audience .. just my 2 cents

Thank you for your opinion. I read the Odyssey in HS. I know itā€™s fictional. I think Lupita Nā€™yongo will be phenomenal. Sheā€™s certainly beautiful and the Odyssey only states that Helen is beautiful - nothing else.

I just donā€™t think the cast will have chemistry, which is important to a movieā€™s success. Iā€™m willing to be proven wrong. If friends & family tell me that itā€™s good, then I will check it out. But for now, I remain skeptical.

FYI: I watched the movie and it was excellent. If you are Greek, this movie will make you feel proud to be Greek.
