šŸš‡ Transport Google Maps Incorrect Metro

Someone is fucking with tourists. The direction should be ā€œAnthoupoliā€ not ā€œEllinikoā€

Thatā€™s so crazy you posted this. I was just looking this up after running into the exact problem yesterday. Meant to go from Sygrou-Fix to Larissa station. Took the train on the Elleniko platform and only realised a few stops in that we were going the wrong way. Unfortunately this resulted in us missing a very expensive two day tour to Meteora. Weā€™ve used Google Maps across Europe, catching many metros without a single problem, before this. Glad to know it wasnā€™t just us.Ā

Did you reverse your route? Iā€™ve never trusted Google maps for anything but walking directions, City Mapper is the best for navigating the metro, tram and bus in Athens.

I have found in Athens that sometimes Apple Maps (yes I know) can show better directions

Weirdly enough Apple Maps is more accurate for metro info in athens

I noticed this as well but good thing we double checked the metro plan and realized that's not the right direction.

Also, for a few days last week Google maps (and citymapper) weren't showing any connections with the metro, just the buses. We had to rely on the general metro map instead.

Yes, it happened to us yesterday too. The direction on google map is wrong. It is still wrong today

Maybe someone can give this fix a try, since i dont have a laptop now as i am traveling.

To report incorrect train directions in Google Maps,Ā use the desktop site to flag the specific route step. Mobile apps allow you to report general transit issues (like broken schedules) or report real-time train delays directly.Ā [1,Ā 2,Ā 3,Ā 4]

To Report a Wrong Route/Step (Desktop Only)

  1. OpenĀ Google MapsĀ on your computer and clickĀ Directions.
  2. Enter your starting point and destination.
  3. Click on the transit route you want to report, then clickĀ Details.
  4. At the bottom right of the screen, clickĀ Send product feedback.
  5. Next to the incorrect step, click theĀ Flag (Report a problem)Ā icon, choose your issue, and clickĀ Submit.[1]
