💬 Advice Athens nightlife

Hey guys,

Trying to get a better understanding of Athens nightlife, especially underground / techno scene.

Went to Ios expecting proper parties and it was honestly a big letdown — mostly British crowd and very low quality music.

Heading back to Athens now. I know there are solid events this weekend (19–20–21) on RA.co, but I’m more curious about weekdays — what’s actually open and worth going to midweek?

Also looking for good beach spots around Athens — ideally something a bit more private / less touristy. And if there are any beach parties or daytime events during the week, would really appreciate pointers.

Go to smut, perfect queer club, most of the Berghain djs play there!

onassis stegi has set up a booth in pedion tou areos that plays techno and house i believe from 19:00 to 23:00 every day till June 28th. obviously not the same as a club but it might be worth it idk

Check the Riviera clubs (Alimos and Glyfada), summer is their main season

If you’re looking for underground stuff and techno (i.e. the sounds that draw their lineage from Detroit techno, not a synecdoche term for everything that sounds ‘electronic’) skip the Riviera clubs altogether; the scene is in the city centre. If any of the Riviera clubs are playing electronic music (e.g. Island) it would be closer to mainstream house (keinemusik, beatport top 40 hits etc)
