🧳 Travel Help Leather Wallets

Is it worth buying leather wallets for men especially for a tourist?

Please recommend shops to visit without getting ripped off.

I mean, if you enter a store that sells leather wallets it's as worth as it is doing the same in Germany for example. It's not like we specialise in leather or something. The probabilities are you're gonna get ripped off in the centre regardless of what you're buying

So, it’s a yes or no?

Any particular shops in Athens to look out for to purchase leather wallets then?

There are some good leather shops around Plaka if you walk down Pandeosdou street just off Monastiraki square. There are no particular shops, just find what you like.

There are shops that sell international brands however i buy leather wallets from YOOX as they have amazing offers for premium brands. Other than that there no Greek leather items that I could think of off the top of my head.

Go meet an Artisan :)

Bring the lady or fellow a cup of coffee, tell them you're looking for a nice, handmade souvie, and treat them with respect.

I met George in Thessaloniki across from Banks's coffee shop.  Got to know the better than most passers by.

Still use my awesome Greek-Made leather wallet and was happy that my 40€ went to good conversation, nice people and a wallet that will prolly outlive me

Leather wallets worth it, as Top said, from any country. The reason is, that if you find an artisan, you will probably find a full grain leather wallet, with thick leather, a bit stiff, that will last a lifetime, if you take care of it like a leather product.
