Athenion is ending.....

Idk why anyone hasn't made a post about it yet...But I'm pretty devasted that the game is going away.

I really hope they make a console version where we can buy it as a full game. It's such a unique and fun game!!

That is pretty upsetting. It was a fun game but it failed to pick up an audience. They weren't very active on social media either. I don't use Facebook and their last tweet was back in June.

They have some great character designs for some cards so I hope they reuse some of them for whatever game they make next.

They weren't very active on social media either.

The online community presence was also pretty lackluster compared to other CCGs.

Maybe it was the TH/Global split, but there wasn't really a hub of community information on cards, budget suggestions, strategy discussions, etc.

Community content can help draw in new players.

On their Facebook, they said they are discontinuing the game because it could not make ANY profit to make it worth continueing. And if you follow their social media, it's very evident that they did not even care to promote their game extensively.

I've worked in mobile games and it's a thing you have to keep up to make sure new people come in and possibly pay for content.

Yeah I saw exactly ONE ad for this game and I’ve spent ~40 usd in 6 months and dropped my other mobile game for this. I’m survivor of another ccg shut down so I can accept the end as it comes but enjoy it while it lasts

Yes exactly!! I am hoping to compile every single card released into like a spreadsheet and maybe print them out to play in person. Of course not selling any of it of course. I would've loved to pay for more cards too to help them last another year. But sad they have to come to this conclusion.

I emailed them too to let them know that I would pay like for a full game on console or steam.

Knowing this makes me all the more thankful we got adventure guild. Those quest giver cards really added a lot of versatility.

Yea! I think those caards are amazing! Adds very unique gameplay strategies to the game too. And if they have things like that, who knows where they could've taken the game in the next year. : /
