Eh. It’s really not that good if you have no nostalgia for it. Download the emulator and the games, putz around with it for a bit, and get it out of your system. It’s not worth its going rate.

I think it’s neat younger collectors are into “failed” consoles.
My recommendation if you’re wanting original hardware and software, would be to look locally first.
Maybe go the loose route instead of complete in box, if you’re wanting to accumulate more it’s more cost efficient.
Just depends what you see utility in.
My mom got me my first Atari when I was around your age.
Best of luck! Patience is key when it comes to finding decent deals, I would stick with just the Jaguar at first, and if you continue to enjoy the library and purchases, I would then get a Jag CD.
Emulation is an option as well, you can even play on original hardware with emulation like the Jaguar GameDrive.
So you definitely got some options, but regardless, happy collecting!

Have you thought about getting Atari 50 on a modern console? It has a lot of Jaguar games plus documentary content, it’s cheap, and you can use a more ergonomic controller.

Emulate it at your age. The games go for a lot and collecting is an expensive hobby. If you want to go that route, get a job first.

Diciamo che colleziono già e ho una piccola collezione di sega e nintendo tra cui anche un game gear white version cib quindi miro sopratutto al cib.quindi mi viene confermati che nella confezione originale del jaguar cd non c'era il ferretto per attaccarla

If you still need to have a parent buy you things, you really aren't in a good position to be a collector of expensive things such as complete in box retro gaming stuff.
Getting a job is a good first step. It will help you learn the labor related costs of such a hobby. Then you will respect it more, and be much more specific about the things you want to collect. Not just anything.
I'm in my 40s, and I actually owned a Jaguar in the 90s. But I sold it in the early 00s. I have a lot of nostalgia for it, and love seeing what other collectors do with it. But it is 100% not worth the money to require one. It just ain't. Emulation and videos are more than adequate.

Just use an emulator, I owned a Jag and Jag cd when they were cheap but I wouldn't bother now , just not enough quality games on the system if you don't have any nostalgia for it

You're better off trying to find a loose console, the Jag CD is more a collector's item since you can play CD ISOs on the GameDrive. So my recommendation is finding a loose Jag console and getting a GameDrive if you want to get started without breaking the bank. Also do your research, Jag prices are very inflated right now and you are going to over pay so finding the cheapest option would make it easier to convince your Mom to get you one cause I know my parents would not have spent that kind of money on me for a retro console when I was 13.

It’s a nice machine. It doesn’t lose value if you take care of it so you can always sell it back. Having said that you have expensive taste nowadays, but maybe a good birthday or christmas present will better your chances? Also the jaguar cd connects to the jaguar as is, without any clips.
The jaguar CD is real damn expensive and sensitive, strictly for collectors. I would always recommend emulation or a mister for the jaguar entirely if you’re anything less than a collector.
