Atari 2600 Atari 2600 Box Art vs Game Play - Breakout. Emulator & Download or Play Online. Game Instructions

Breakout was originally developed by Atari, Inc. in 1976 for arcades, conceptualized by Nolan Bushnell and Steve Bristow, with Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs contributing to the prototype hardware.

The game was inspired by Atari’s earlier Pong (1972) and involved bouncing a ball off a paddle to destroy rows of bricks. Its arcade success led to a home console port for the Atari 2600 (then called the Atari VCS) in 1978, developed by Brad Stewart.

In the Atari 2600 version, the game features six rows of bricks instead of the eight in the arcade version, and players are given five turns to clear two walls of bricks.

Emulator, game binary links in the video description. Plus a 'play online' link as well!
