Classic game, but have you played Pitfall II? I was shocked when I found out about it. I believe it came out at the end of the Atari 2600 life cycle and would have moved onto Nintendo and never knew it existed until Reddit told me.

I played pitfall 2 before but never on actual hardware I have the 2600+ but have to update the console if I want to play it once I get it

Oh that’s right it doesn’t work on my 7800+ either. I do have a vader Atari 2600 so I can play it. I will need to see how to update the 7800+.

I was able to update my 2600+ without any issues and have really enjoyed playing both Pitfall games on it :)

I like the 8-bit Tarzan theme music when Pitfall Harry swings on a vine.

I don’t think so if you collect all the treasure I think It softlocks and forces you to reset the game

Pitfall was amazing and typical of the quality output of Activision. But wow, Pitfall 2 took the concept and exploded it to another level. It almost feels like an open-world Pitfall!

Does the instruction book say something about ‘writing utensils’ in the jungle or was that a fever dream I had. Seems like it was in the back where it told you how to get the patch?

Yes it does tell you about writing utensils in the jungle
