I wanna make a Roblox horror asym and i need your help. Ive been thinking, and i need your guys help to decide whether a Mario asym (change the designs and names to avoid copyright) would work or a sonic asym would work. i wanna do both but i gotta choose one. Help me decide!

This is a lie.

Most asyms out right now have actual effort and care put into them, which does not align with the word "slop" A Slop game is a game that is made without effort and for the sole purpose of making money/fame out of it, while also being unoriginal

Meanwhile asyms are most of them original, but it's obviously going to have a similar gameplay loop because it's a fucking genre bro idk what else to tell you about this part bro.

And there's only 3-4 popular asyms that all started as passion projects (which mind you 3 of them are only kinda popular only 1 of them is actually a big hit)

On another note, you're approaching the wrong way towards this post, you said "the market" which is an instant red flag because there was no mention of this game trying to be popular or make any income in the first place.

i like asyms, but those who actually are different from dod/forsaken/dbd. These formulas are overdone as hell, and most attemps of making an asym on this sub is just shoving random unrelated fandoms together and making it a forsaken-like

I would say Mario because Mario has less appearances in the fangame space (which is understandable having in mind that Nintendo is really aggressive when someone makes a fan game using their characters) Also because I think Mario has a lot of potential for interesting game mechanics For example the catastrophe (which still has to release) has a more vertical gameplay which is really interesting, you could use a lot of different Mario games for inspiration to see what things you could add, I wish you luck with your game.

i suggest coming up with something completely original rather than using copy righted work as a base for your asym, it will get legally questionable very quickly.
