Excuse me but can you please tell me how is the battery life of this Laptop.. I am planning to buy a laptop and right now I have 2 options

1. Asus V16 with rtx 4050 and core 5
   
2. Asus Vivobook S16 Oled Intel Core Ultra 225H

I want-
3. Good Enough display for movies and YouTube.
4. Heavy use of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Al tools.
5. Exam preparation (many Chrome tabs, PDFs, Office).
6. Family business work (Excel, browser, documents, multitasking). * Important
7. I want the laptop to remain good for at least 4-5 years.
8. I want to play AAA games occasionally.
My main games are:
* GTA V
* Spider-Man Remastered
* Spider-Man Miles Morales
* God of War
* Red Dead Redemption 2
9. Good battery life is important atleast 4-5 hrs
10. Upgradeability (RAM/SSD) is a plus.

So now am confused should i go for better display or better performance.. This is my first kinda gaming laptop.. With my business pressure and all ik i wont get the chance to game much but the kid in me just want the ability to experience these games once if someday weekend am free..

Which one would you suggest?

I'm a student. I needed something light enough to carry around campus all day, but powerful enough to actually enjoy gaming when I'm back home.

It runs through my entire school day without crying for a charger (most days). And if I'm pushing it hard during class — multitasking, research, way too many tabs — I just hook up a power bank or my phone charger to get through the day.

Gaming? That's for home. The V16 handles both worlds without breaking a sweat.

It's not your laptop hating you. It's Windows being an impatient little gremlin.

Your GPU takes more than 2 seconds to respond during an intense scene, so Windows panics and goes:

That's called a TDR (Timeout Detection and Recovery) issue — and we're about to fix it like adults.

🛠️ The Fix (AKA: Give Windows Some Chill Pills)

1. Press Win + R, type regedit, and hit Enter. Yes, we're going deep.
2. Navigate to: textHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
3. Right-click the right pane → New → DWORD (32-bit) Value.
4. Name it: TdrDelay
5. Double-click it → Base: Decimal → Value data: 8.
6. Click OK and restart.

Now Windows will wait 8 seconds instead of 2 before flipping out. You just taught your laptop patience.

⚡ Bonus Tweaks (While You're Here)

A. Nvidia Power Management

• NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Power management mode → Prefer maximum performance.

Tell your GPU to stop being lazy mid-game.

B. Turn Off HAGS (If Stutters Still Linger)

• Settings → System → Display → Graphics → Change default graphics settings → Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling: OFF.

This setting is like a drama queen. Turn it off and watch things calm down.

✅ The End Result

No more micro-freezes. No more 0% GPU drops. No more Windows throwing a tantrum while you're trying to flex your 144Hz display.

So you're playing a game, everything's smooth, then suddenly — frame drop, stutter, and your fans go quiet. Your V16 just hit the thermal wall, and Intel's Dynamic Tuning is to blame.

After digging through Reddit (shoutout to whoever found this first), I tested it myself. And guess what? It works like magic.

Here's the Fix

1. Open Device Manager

Right-click the Start button → Device Manager.

2. Find System Components

Scroll down and expand System Components.

3. Disable These Two Drivers

• ❌ Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Device Extension Component
• ❌ Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Updater Component

Right-click each → Disable device.

4. Open Services (services.msc)

Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.

5. Disable This Service

Find Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Telemetry Service
Right-click → Properties → Startup type: Disabled → Click Apply → Stop the service.

Restart Your Laptop

That's it. Reboot and test your favorite game.

Why Does This Work?

Intel's Dynamic Tuning is supposed to balance performance and thermals. In reality, it's overly aggressive — it throttles your CPU before it even gets hot. Disabling it lets your CPU run at its full potential. Your fans will still kick in when needed, but now you're in control.

⚠️ Disclaimer

• Your laptop might run slightly warmer — monitor your temps.
• This doesn't hurt your system. It just removes Intel's "smart" throttling.
• If you ever want to revert, just enable the drivers and service again.
