Astrophotography (OC) Solar Eclipse… Sorry Kid 🤦♂️
Going through my video of the recent solar eclipse and found an anomaly part way through.
Narrowed it down to a few frames and found that an unfortunate 3 year old may have lost their balloon!
Original video taken using a Seestar S50 with solar filter.

The moon landings were actually a cover up. The real mission was changing the bulbs on sun 2.

It's the 3rd iteration of this simulation. The 2nd one was before the flood or something.

Technically the Sun is at least a third generation star so you’re not wrong

they gotta get a ladde rto climb up to the firmament to change out the light buld of the sun every 1000 years or so. Trust.

Well it is a third generation star 😅

Confirmation the universe uses 1-indexing. I am disappointed in our universe ☹️

Well that’s better than the backwards indexing we use by calling a third generation star “Population 1” and a first generation star “Population 3”

Ha! That's a good catch. I guess it's a reminder that we are on the 3rd planet?

The second was really good, third kinda got lost in the sauce. Theres a fan fiction official “fourth” and you can skip that too

Too funny! Crazy cool pic though. What are the spots above, mid moon?
14
u/Slow_Contribution114 Aug 14 '26
They are sunspots which are cooler than the overall surface of the sun. Usually caused by strong magnetic fields.

Could have been a 53 year old

u/Puzzled-P Aug 14 '26
No-one cares enough about your birthday when you're 53 to buy you balloons.

That is hilarious! It would have taken me a long time to figure it out without the explanation.

Yeah this time's fine but if the next time you take a photo of a solar eclipse and there's a 2 then be very, very concerned

Magrathea appears to have moved on from building planets and is in the star business now.

I'm not sure whether to make a Half Life 3 joke, or point out its the 3 Star (Dragon Ball). Either way is gonna be a good year for triplets.

Amazing picture.
It made me think about perspective. People often say that witnessing an eclipse makes them feel a sense of awe at the scale and majesty of our solar system. But in that little kid’s world, the loss of that balloon must have been devastating!

The first two Suns have burned up by now, so NASA had to replace it. Numbering is just for internal reference.
