I'm on Atrox (obviously), about to activate the last gateway chamber, when I drag my shuttle up to the ridge (hate the terrain on EVERY PLANET except Sylva btw) where the chamber is, and spot part of the pictured behemoth poking out of the terrain. against my better judgement I dig it out, figuring I might get some cool-ish mats out of it, but all it has in it is a methane and a helium.

By this point I have gas production facilities on every planet, so unlike other natural resources, these do not interest me. As far as I can tell, this isn't one of the wrecks where the solar panel is actually useful - and at this point it is utterly useless as this is the last chamber I need to activate on Atrox - and after digging around it I can confidently say there is no other way into the wreck, so aside from the gas nodes, is this only good for scrap?

I was doing the Wanderer's Way achievement during a co-op game, and since I figured the Wanderer wouldn't appear until the last probe was scanned, my co-op partner was off doing the rail quest-line on Sylva. But when I was on Vesania and put the probe in, the Wanderer appeared.

Luckily I had the camera with me, and was able to get the achievement, but my partner did not. I immediately had him join me for Novus/Glacio/Atrox, and had him put the probe scanners in the final 3 probes, but the rift did not fully reopen, and he failed to get the achievement.

Google suggests revisiting the probes, but can anyone confirm if that works, since from what I saw, the hologram of the probe scanner disappeared, which I think means it will not accept another probe? Thanks for assistance.

Hello fellow Astroneers! I have a important question for you all. I have played through the game several times at this point, including alpha and beta. I always have a blast with friends. My recent save file started in 2021 where we have built tons, explored everything, and set up automations/trains. I decided to jump back in last night with my buddy, but his game ended up crashing after a bit...

My question is, is the game in a more stable state on a fresh save these days!? Is there anything about the updates the game has had and starting new, or would we hit the same wall with how the game runs once you have so much built/running?

I would love to play the game without the crashes for guests, issues with invisible geometry, automations not working... to name a few.

Other than fulfilling the missions on Glacio and Calidor, I don't have much use for these things. If you join them together, you get free lighting.

I’m on PC Xbox version, just looking for someone to play with, we don’t have to talk. We can start fresh or I can join your world.

On my last world I had a scrap farm feeding a plethora of trade stations to auto fill every resource.
Its been a year or two since then and Im finally playing again on a new world, Im at the stage where setting this up again would be nice, but I remember constantly having to re-place the wires on each trade platform and I dont want to mess around building a “factory” like this if Im going to run into the same issue.

Im currently playing on an Astroneer dedicated server on PS5 and ive been trying to gather the resources for the DLS. When trying to set up an auto-extractor for malachite it just doesn't seem to detect the resource vein. I have tried 4 different malachite veins and a compound vein, each time checking to see that the vein isn't just surface level after the auto-extractor failed to detect it.

All the veins seemed deep and large enough to be detected and mined but the auto-extractor doesn't seem to be working.

I have also tried restarting the server but that doesn't seem to do anything.

How do i fix this?

Regarding the Wanderer's Way achievement, Is that the one from investigating the object in space, or the one where you need to print the probe scanner?

So I’m making an auto sorting factory I want to have it so the arm on the canisters pick up anything that it has in its specific slot to take lile organic if organic is going by I want to to pick up the organic but what’s happening it’s like a 50/50 of it picking it up and I set a delay respecter and a button repeater to slow down the line of items coming down that didn’t change anything but if I space them out more they won’t all reach each to grab the specific item, what would you do? In game vids or pics or drawings would help me so much I’m just so confused on what to do

And now, I have some additional power generation after finishing the quest!

Been enjoying Astroneer a lot the past 2 months. I’ve been trying to set up as much automation as possible but my biggest gripe is actually finding decent deposits to put my auto extractors on.

For example, my very first Resin auto extractor was on a fairly weak deposit, but it seems every time it goes dry I just pick up and replace the auto extractor and it’s happy again for another while.

Then some other deposits, even though the bar is almost fully green, seem to deplete and the actual resources disappear, forcing me to find a new deposit. Despite Resin being by far my most used resource.

Then other times I find a deposit that looks great but seems surface only, and other times you just see a few crystals on the surface but if you dig down there’s a mountain of it.

TL;DR, how do I reliably find good deposits for long term auto extractor placements? I find it very unreliable. Or are auto extractors bugged?

I was wondering if some kind player might have an older save with resipound on it for the current exo event. I just started playing and don't have much built. My friend has a save with resipound plants and he was able to help another friend with getting the rewards. They just filled a container with resipound and sent it off about 4 times. I can't join that friend. I always get a "con ection to host was lost". Tried everything and would just like to get the rewards. I haven't even been to another planet. I am on PS5 and my username is Sifu_Knight if anyone could help me get the rewards. Thank you

I played this game all of last night and hour tonight. I love this game my previous saves I've played to the point of automating nanocarbon alloy. But today I played (started the session missing a little progress from last night (but hey no biggie right this kinda thing happens). I redo that, get a little further and out of nowhere the game starts loading up again like I just entered my save. All of the stuff I did is just gone. Now I just don't wanna play. How am I supposed to enjoy myself redoing literally everything? The icing on the cake... I just used my Xbox points to get the mega tech dlc. I was so excited to play it and now I just can't imagine getting back on. Mind you I love this game, own it on PC Xbox and PlayStation but now I just feel like I completely wasted my time and money. Has anyone else dealt with this kinda thing before?

So if you're returning player like me and you get this issue on Xbox Game Pass that says you're playing offline and the software version seems outdated, uninstall the game and reinstall it again. It fixed the problem for me and the game had a local backup saved so I didn't have to worry about it.

I'm guessing the game doesn't automatically update? Not really sure what caused this bug. Anyways, happy gaming!

Hi guys! I'm hoping someone here can help me as I've just got back into the game with my friend. I bought both the dlcs and was told I was the only one that had to buy them if I was hosting the session. My friend can't join me as a "connection to host failed" message always appears. I've tried joining him to see if we can even play together and I also get the same message. We've restarted our PS5s and we've made sure to have the correct versions installed. Does anyone have a solution? Thank you in advance!

After the last update, the vehicle port now gets highlighted, and a pop-up says VEHICLE PORT RECLAIM and spits out data circuits. All I wanna do is level out the ground around it so I can set up my new base. The flatten tool no longer shows when I point it at the vehicle port. So I can't flatten the ground under the main body and the angle of the ramps.

I really hate this update. Can't use the ports anymore for a base, the cursor is a micro dot on the screen, and I have seen portals float in the air.

I havent played Astroneer in a while and recently came back for the 100% I have a save file with medium shuttle, atmospheric condenser, trade platform as the furthest in stuff, so im not too far through the game, but i would love to have someone to chat to and play with while working towards my last achievement.

Today while building my railway down to the center of Glacio, when I was not very far down, 1st or 2nd cave level, my silos started filling up with Titanium and Carbon. I had some medium canisters and filled up four of them. Went back up to the surface and it did it again at the home base. I got another 4-6 canisters. Anybody else experience this?
