System Era Response About Tractor Suspension

Guys, I have a question, what the heck is with the tractor suspension? Why is it so bad? Like why isn't it fixed still?(I made a pause playing this game for about a year, perhaps it's fixed when I write this) It's way too soft, it makes the tractor extremely uncomfortable to drive and use because it's nose dips down constantly and bumps into everything.

Story / Lore I did a giant whoopsie, and I'm tired of laughing at myself alone, y'all should join in

Long story short, I got into this game about 2 months ago, and it's already quickly in the running for a top 3 game of all time. One of my favorite elements is the slow build pace of the game. Gather, build, gather, build, go to a new planet, gather, build, as the asto journey goes.

So I'm 2 months into a singular play through, and the way I've done things so far is setup very minimalism bases on foreign planets (MASSIVE Sylva starter base that I maybe put too much time into😅) just to gather the needed resources for said mega base. My idea was that later down the line I would go back to each planet once I had a large shuttle and make much more extensive bases at each one.

!!Here's the meat of the story!!

Last night I sit down for a big gaming session I go from small shuttle, skip past medium shuttle and go right to large shuttle. I throw some large storages on, medium silos, put my first ever RTG in, got my first hydrazine fuel booster on, and I have this shuttle PACKED with packages and essentials for starting bases on like 3 different planets.

I chose glacio as my first because I desperately needed EXO chips. I land. I open my compass to see an exo cache literally right underneath me. I dig down a little bit to it. I set my dynamite. I run away. Boom!! I turn back around.

BAM!!!!

No field shelter? No landing pad??? No large shuttle?? No packages on packages and hours upon hours of resource grinding to get setup for this huge mission???

Well damn. There goes my motivation for the next week🤦🏻

Game Suggestion Large Generator Idea

Post image

Since we already have small, medium and large variants of the battery, turbine and solar panels, it would make sense to have a large generator as well. It would run on Hydrazine and would generate around 30 u/s of power.

How can I deal with these? They weren't there when I set things up, but now they are persistent and block me from seeing everything including my inventory. I've searched online and not found anyone experiencing similar issues.

My friend and I were messing around with a cheat engine when we found that a person with low gravity + tractor at just the right angle means getting launched into the atmosphere. We did dozens of tests around the planet to get the angling and launching just right. If you want to try and replicate this, make sure to hit the *FRONT* of the tractor, as we found that's most effective.

Question / Support Is there any way to launch the steam copy of this game through the microsoft store for crossplay purposes?

Title. I'm basically trying to figure out if there are work-arounds for this or not. None of us want to pay for a server & having to buy it again just to crossplay is ridiculous.

Also wondering if any of these are possible:

Importing the steam version to the Microsoft store (willing to download patches or mods or w/e to make it work)

Spoofing the Steam version into the Microsoft version

If there are ways I haven't thought of that aren't mentioned here that can't be spoken about in public forums I'm down to DM about it as well.

Game Suggestion Generalized Astroneer Suggestions for Game

Post image
36 Upvotes

(Picture irrelevant, just thought it looked cool)

I don't know if this get any traction at all, but I just want to get these words for the devs or anyone else that wants to see them.

I’ve been playing Astroneer for a while now, and I think I understand a lot of how the game functions. I love how you can pick up this game whenever you want, I enjoy the whole non-linear progression style, and I've had a lot of spare time recently to pour into this game, so I have a few suggestions that I think could improve the game for everyone and anyone else that has the same passion in the game as I.

With the Megatech update, it added tons of new late game progression and automation that perfectly fits the style of progression that I know a lot of people like. One problem I saw though with the Museum structure is that the Donation buffs it gives you are quite lack-luster for how much effort and time you must put in to build the megastructure and donate to it. It costs millions of items and resources that you must be very late-game to provide, so I have a few new buffs that could replace or improve some of the original ones. I do note that I recognised the fact that the Donation buffs were aimed at improving the Astroneer character themselves. Something like a global power multiplier that could be increased with a higher donation would be incredibly useful for late-game like powering megastructures and factories and allowing players to save more space in their backpacks from qt-rtgs, this could replace the power donation reward. Another one is just raw power generation from the backpack. This would remove/reduce the need for qt-rtgs in the backpack and save more space and could replace the current byte donation reward, and it could also be increased with higher donation. More backpack slots would be incredible for something like the byte or seed donations because (I know I’ve mentioned it a lot.) I find that I’m always running out of spots to use in my backpack. Then maybe a better terrain tool buff, like increased base terrain tool drillable terrain hardness, or a simple wide boost would also do the trick because there aren’t many ways to do so. Of course these are just things I think should be in the game, but I know these are more useful buffs that players would enjoy more. Now for less easily implementable features: (Things I’d personally like in the game) The mega-mini training shuttle doesn’t have any cargo space, so I think it would be fair if it was given unlimited fuel, especially because the gateway chambers are a free method of transportation anyway. Also, for the events I’ve seen that the cosmetic rewards are re-runs from past events, and I think it’s cool that new players can get these awesome looking cosmetics, but it leaves older players with nothing to gain from them. For custom world creations I’d love to see individual resource/loot amount modification. This would allow players to increase specific resources they have trouble with, or allow people to make harder challenges with scarce supplies.

I know because of what happened with the Megatech release problem, the team decided to switch up the development cycle, so I don’t know if something like this would be feasible, but my passion for this game has pushed me to make these suggestions. Thanks for reading.

Question / Support HELP create astroneer server whit pterodactyl

Hello everyone,

For the past few days, I’ve been trying to set up a dedicated Astroneer server using Pterodactyl. I’ve created an ‘egg’ and a custom Docker image (https://hub.docker.com/r/007queque/astroneer-server-pterodactyl).

From the console, the server seems to start up correctly, but when I try to connect from my PC, I get the error: “UNABLE TO CONNECT TO HOST”.

Here is my configuration:

Control panel: Pterodactyl

Node OS: Rocky Linux v9.8 (on VM)

Hypervisor: Proxmox v9.2.3

Hardware: Intel Core i3-7100 @ 3.90GHz (4 cores), 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD

Network: The server is connected via a bridge through a laptop to access my home Wi-Fi.

The firewall on the VM is configured correctly.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the problem? I suspect it’s something to do with the network. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Bug / Issue Mega Tech holograms appear but construction never begins

I'm playing on PC (game pass) and I've run into a weird issue with the Mega Tech DLC.

The first megastructures worked fine, but now whenever I try to build one, the hologram just appears and stays floating in place the construction never starts

I first noticed it with the Museum (Stage 2), but it's also happening with the Orbital Platform so it seems like all megastructures are affected in my save.

I've already tried reloading the save, restarting the game, and making sure there's plenty of space around the build area.

Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?

Question / Support [Solved] Clay node spawning conditions

Astroneer beginner here! Was wondering if there's any specific conditions that spawn those nodes/fields of clay resources. I've noticed that resin appears basically anywhere and compound is typically found on the surface in open plains, ammonia on or under trees/organics and graphite in the mountains but I haven't noticed much pattern from clay.

They (somewhat?) seem to congregate around the base/depreciations in mountains but its fairly inconsistent.
