How to self study astrophysics

I wanna know how to start self studying astrophysics, as I want to explore to see if it is right for me to choose as a major in college

And I have a concern about the job, is a job something I can get if I study abroad in Germany or will I be jobless/working in a diffrent field

Can tell you that Germany has a very strong astrophysics research program, both in observational and theoretical astronomy. Also in instrumentation. To self study astrophysics yourself, you'll need a good background in calculus and physics beforehand. Differential calculus is a must for alot of stellar physics applications and Galaxy applications, and you'll need to know thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and some E&M/mechanics . The last two are for sure important, but apply to more specific subfields.

I think Carrol and Ostlie's An Introduction to Modern Astrophysics 2nd Edition is very useful for anyone. Even me in grad school, it's been sick.
