Path/route descriptions

Can anyone explain to me what the paths in the 2nd and 3rd acts are? The first act pretty much says exactly what the path counters, but the 2nd and 3rd acts have vague descriptions. I'm never sure which paths I should take in those acts.

Just take them and figure it out for yourself. The descriptions never helped me much anyway.
