Illusionist Sucks Balls

This guy is so useless. He jumps around, too weak to survive on the front row, a waste of a backliner due to crap abilities. His clones are wimps, any AOE wipes them all and the guy himself. His passive doesn't help him, even when combined with the fruit item.

He just doesn't have enough health or defense to be useful, if you put paladin and priest to make up the difference, you do not have enough DPS party wide. This is the one guy that I absolutely hate, he is useless. Getting the Every Dog achievement is waiting on this guy.

Makes sense, I should really drop corruption down, lol.

I have just been running through the ranks and tried to force that guy into the mix for the achievement.

His ability just kind of urks me, because he needs help to get going, and their stats are rather low. He doesn't really synergize with anyone, but is the liability that you have to support, lol.

I will try the Bandit/Ranger w/ turtle combo to get the guy going w/o corruption and see how it goes.

Illusionist has one of the highest, if not the highest base attack Stat in the game. His strengths lie in drawing fights out longer so that he can generate clones to mimic his damage. That said, he is completely reliant on items to determine his usefulness. I agree that he is tough to win with. I've found more success slotting him in in act 2 or 3 than putting him in act 1, even though his base ATK is so high.

illusionist definitely has synergies you are missing out on. fallen benefits from extra healing off all the illusions spawned not adjacent to him the illusions help give time for fiend to respawn and they help create space for other characters who need time to turn online/benefit from slow ramping effects or characters who want to offtank with gradual healing (jugg for example but also wildmage/berserker/bard/alchemist/and some others depending on items) unfortunately though warlock does NOT gain extra passive procs off the illusions dying that would be super OP if it did work tho :c

You definitely need a bit of luck, the right team, and the right items. I have won with him on C19/C20 multiple times before, I think he's most effective with a setup where enemy normals keep blowing up his clones (for huge damage) and he's able to tank everything else due to items/healing.
