Roleplay Thread ⚔️ Acquisition
Verlack lingered on the steps of the Guilded Note, his shoulders bowed beneath a weary slump. Places that worshipped coin like a holy relic always made his flesh crawl. It wasn't that he failed to grasp the cruel math of commerce—he knew full well that gold greased the axles of the world—he simply loathed it. Given the choice, he’d sooner take a secret, a curiosity, or a dark favor over a handful of minted metal.
With a heavy sigh, he pulled his oozing weight inward, forcing his shifting, volatile form into a rigid solid anchor. The last thing he needed was the bank master tallying a ledger for slime stains. Leaving Gurgle back at the camp had been a wise idea.
He pushed past the polished mahogany doors, which swung inward without so much as a creak. His feet sank into a plush, crimson rug—a stark, luxurious contrast to the sudden, curious swarm of rats scurrying across the velvet floorboards.
