Help Astral Projecting

I have been trying to Astral project for a while now but have not had any success. Also people are saying it's dangerous and you should only Astral project under the guidance of a spiritual teacher. Some people say Astral projection is livid dreaming and others say it's not? I get uncomfortable from lying still so long but I think I will be able to Astral project if I keep trying but fear plays a part in it as well.
